Cozy Industries, known for making a range of accessories for Apple devices, recently came out with its newest product, the PortCozy.

The PortCozy is a simple silicone plug that's meant to plug into the USB-C ports on Apple's MacBook Pro models to keep out dirt, dust, debris, and moisture while traveling or when the MacBook is not in use.

Compatible with the 2016 and later 13, 15, and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, Cozy Industries sells the PortCozy in a set of two alongside a port cleaning brush for $6.99. A pack includes a PortCozy set in smoke and a set in clear, and it can be purchased from the Cozy website.

I think that's a good price, especially considering how much Apple accessories usually cost. And if you were to try and make your own version of this it would cost considerably more in terms of time cost and the result wouldn't be as good!

Quite a margin on those things I’m sure. Never had a failure due to dust getting in there. I’ll occasionally clean them out.

If there was a good working solution for the keyboard, maybe might be worth a mention

I’m thinking once this is released someone will release the design to 3D printer site and you will be able to pick one up from etsy for 1.00.

20 years owning laptops. Never heard of uncovered ports being a problem.
I have had an issue with a couple of USB-C machines getting dirt into the port, then the charger cable doesn't always go in properly. Nothing some high-velocity air can't sort out, and maybe a gentle pokey-poke with a needle.

That brush is identical to one i got with my wahl peanut electric razer. 🤔

In all seriousness though, it's not a terrible idea. Last year something some how got caught in my MBP's USB-C port and i couldn't fully plug in the charger until i got it out.

This reminds me of the iPod 30-pin dock connector covers that used to ship with iPods.

someone else is either subsidizing you by letting you use the 3D printer for free or cheap, or you already had one which you paid way more than this for.

next criticism!

I was actually gonna say, 10 cents? Why so expensive? (Yes, obviously he's talking about just the cost of material.)
