I've literally never had an issue with anything clogging up any laptop's ports. Or desktop's ports, for that matter.

Now, a filter which would protect the fan intake on a desktop machine which is sitting on the floor... that might have some value.

I clean out my iPhone's lightning port with a toothpick about twice a year. Pocket lint gets stuck in there and after a while, the phone doesn't charge right away when you plug it in. Scrape it with a wooden toothpick and dig out the lint and you'll be surprised how much stuff ends up there. Afterwards you'll notice that the "click" when plugging in the cable is back and no more loose connection.

On a laptop that's not an issue, you just don't keep that in a cotton pocket.

this might make sense if you’re the type who uses your MacBook in harsh elements but that’s definitely not me. Never had an issue with the ports on any of my MacBooks.

I'll never use either, but to the people suggesting it... would you really stick a piece of tape on your laptop over this?

Cozy Industries, known for making a range of accessories for Apple devices, recently came out with its newest product, the PortCozy.

The PortCozy is a simple silicone plug that's meant to plug into the USB-C ports on Apple's MacBook Pro models to keep out dirt, dust, debris, and moisture while traveling or when the MacBook is not in use.

Compatible with the 2016 and later 13, 15, and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, Cozy Industries sells the PortCozy in a set of two alongside a port cleaning brush for $6.99. A pack includes a PortCozy set in smoke and a set in clear, and it can be purchased from the Cozy website.

Yeah, can't be bothered to read all the people who say it's not a problem. If you regularly travel with devices with open ports, dust and fluff will get into the ports. One day that will cause a problem. If you carry your iphone in your jeans pocket a lot, go get a wooden cocktail stick and dig out the gunk in your port. Now imagine a small metal sliver gets lodged in one of those ports... this **** happens, and as someone who traveled a lot with my MBPs I would have liked this option, and I'd love idevice solutions too...

I worked at the genius bar for about 2 years. Can’t remember a case where this where dust in a macbook’s port caused problems. Maybe small metal clips on the MagSafes but to me this solves a non existing problem

someone else is either subsidizing you by letting you use the 3D printer for free or cheap, or you already had one which you paid way more than this for.

next criticism!

That's what I thought.
Like me saying, hey I can run this thru my 3D body scanner for a few $ of electricity.

Ummmm, yeah, and the $300,000 machine you just happen to have at work you can use ;)

20 years owning laptops. Never heard of uncovered ports being a problem.
How often do you have them with you on a construction site? People that work around very dusty places may find it useful. I‘m an office worker and would never buy this though.

All 4 of my MacBook ports needs cleaning constantly or the power cord won’t fully engage.

USB C has been the most obnoxious connection I’ve ever used.

It is absolutely a problem that exists.
I’m curious, what are you doing with them?👨🏼‍💻

I think that's a good price, especially considering how much Apple accessories usually cost. And if you were to try and make your own version of this it would cost considerably more in terms of time cost and the result wouldn't be as good!

Considering a set of covers from AliExpress cost less than $3 shipped, I'd say this was overpriced.

I wish Apple would come up with a new material for black keyboards that doesn't start wearing out in the first 4 weeks of usage and get progressively worse from there.

First thing I noticed in the pics as well. That's a pretty beat up MacBook!

I got a set of like 20 on AliExpress for about £2 years ago. Very high quality feeling and have done me well ever since. This is just someone trying to make a quick buck with someone else’s idea.
