I at one time worked around the corner from a security guy (who was really talented), who filled the spare ports on his desktop PC with epoxy, to, yep, you guessed it, make them exceedingly secure. You could glue this in to make your laptop ultra-secure.
someone else is either subsidizing you by letting you use the 3D printer for free or cheap, or you already had one which you paid way more than this for.
next criticism!
You have the capability to 3D print silicone? I didn’t know that was a thing.Looks like I should be able to 3D print one of these for about 16 cents.
In fact, I think I will as I doubt they make them for my 2011 vintage MacBook Pro.

20 years owning laptops. Never heard of uncovered ports being a problem.
As they say, this is a Nothingburger, especially when you factor in the shipping & overall cost. How often do ports get clogged? Really! I hope they didn't bet the ranch on this product!20 years owning laptops. Never heard of uncovered ports being a problem.
This a good solution for a problem that does not exist.

Tape is cheaper.Honestly surprised how reasonably priced this is. Actually worth buying.
Definitely. Nothing like a gentle pokey-poke to clear the ports.I have had an issue with a couple of USB-C machines getting dirt into the port, then the charger cable doesn't always go in properly. Nothing some high-velocity air can't sort out, and maybe a gentle pokey-poke with a needle.
Only problem I ever encountered was constant plugging/unplugging USB devices until something in the port got bent. Most of our accessories are going wireless so you don't really encounter that as often.20 years owning laptops. Never heard of uncovered ports being a problem.

To play devil’s advocate, aren’t most ports fully empty spaces with the pins on the inner edge, whereas with USB-C, the female port has the pins in the middle of it (hence why the male USB-C plug looks hollow)? With that in mind, it seems more likely for a female USB-C port to get damaged than most other formats.20 years owning laptops. Never heard of uncovered ports being a problem.
