We've been watching the match, just under ten minutes to go now plus stoppage time. I'll say no more in case you're hoping to see some highlights or something, I don't want to spoil you. ;)

I actually just saw a score flash by, so it's been well spoilt. Highlights would still be nice though, maybe there will be something on FSC tonight.

Hmm is this a good thing?

Sorta want Chelsea to crash and burn now.

Indeed. So much for the Chelsea "Dynasty". I feel for Mourinho, though. He's clearly a smart guy and an excellent manager, but that man Kenyon is a nasty piece of work, and the pressures of the money spent must have been ridiculous.

Whoever takes on the role will need to be very strong.

Wow.

One can hardly criticize his record though - two league titles and no league defeats in three seasons, not to mention the FA & Carling Cups.

Hmmm. Given everything that's going on over there, he's better out of it, not that I'm pleased to hear this news this morning. He won't be out of work for long and who's going to want to pick up that poisoned chalice? Although when he has spoken before, he's indicated a genuine affection for living in London... maybe next Spurs manager.

Given the rumoured turmoil, conniving and leaking over at the Bridge, I'd be surprised to see a top four finish this season unless someone comes in who can rally the senior players. So long José, special one. Thanks for the memories and thanks for getting under Arsene Wenger's skin. :D ;)

Alex Ferguson will be looking forward to Sunday.

Gillingham are looking for a new manager and he could commute from London...

I think this could be bad for football. Whoever takes over will be very friendly with Abramovic and he will have to give them money to spend up front.

Mourinho clearly decided it was better to leave now with his dignity intact rather than be humiliatingly sacked at 9.30pm next Wednesday. ;)

Meanwhile, it appears Avrim Grant – Chelsea's Director of Football – is set to be named as the new manager later today. He's a very close friend of Abramovich, apparently...

Do you see any of the Chelsea players wanting out now? Some were pretty close with The Special One.

Of course Ballack and Shevo now know they are pretty much guaranteed to be selected every week when healthy.

I think Chelsea could quite quickly change into a Leicester or Hearts, revolving door managers. On a side topic when Megson took over at Leicester last week he said he was on a long term contract - 7 weeks!

If Abramovic wants to watch attractive football I have an address for him:

Arsenal Football Club
Highbury House
75 Drayton Park
London N5 1BU

They are playing the best football so far in the country and they look very dangerous. I don't think they will win the league this year, infact I don't think they will finish in the top 2, but come next season, if Wenger gets some money and can add 2 - 3 world class player they will be very dangerous.

There's always been speculation the Lampard and possibly Drogba would go if Mourinho left, so that's food for thought...

Hmmm...England or Spurs? But does he want to stay in England or go somewhere else?

They could use him on the US national side - or LA Galaxy, who despite Beckham are bottom of the MLS table. :p;)

I think there is a large chance Lampard and/or Terry following him now, depending on where his next job is. I don't think he'll be jobless for long though.

As for Arsenal, they are now looking like title contenders for this year. I have all but written Chelsea off after today so I think it'll be a scrap between United and Arsenal. (Oh, wont that just be the best of fun... like the good old days )

I could see Lampard leaving, but Terry seems pretty committed to them.

Actually, all the players say that don't they and then leave the week after. ;)

So a new manager and a demoralised team a matter of days before their crunch match against Manchester United? The timing's impeccable, you have to give them that.

Of course, if they lose at the weekend they'll be liable to come back all guns blazing and take it out on us.

I could see Mourinho being interested in taking over at Spurs, though. Not only could he stay put where he’s currently living (a consideration given his young family and his apparent love of the capital), but I can imagine him wanting to prove exactly how good he is to the doubters he has here.

No matter what he did at Chelsea (or his previous success at Porto) there were a lot of people who were happy to disregard his achievements due to the financial backing he had, claiming anyone could build a title-winning side with Abramovic’s money. A club like Spurs – not poor by any standards but still down the financial ladder from Chelsea – would give him an opportunity to prove he is a genuinely great manager and silence any doubters once and for all. I could see that appealing to his competitive nature.

As I said, there is a job going at Gillingham.....
