Any news on whether it's 1GB or 2GB?

Based on the fact that the SE is using the Touch ID found in the iPhone 6/6plus, I feel Apple could maybe pull a fast one and only put 1GB of RAM in the SE.
There isn't a conundrum.

It's simply Apple being predictable. They love to go cheap with ram. Plus it's inconsequential anyway, Apple is about control over their user base.

The phone will function and that's all most buyers care about or understand

A9 = 2GB of Ram means iPhones with the A9 have 2GB of Ram.
apple has purposely downgraded lower priced/lower margin products in the past, to prevent the loss of sales for their higher priced/higher margin products - See Mac Mini.

I would not put it past Apple, to put 1Gig of RAM in these, so as not to sacrifice sales of the 6s

That's right, which is why I buck the trend and insist on using phones that don't function.

Putting 1GB of Ram would almost defeat the purpose of using the A9 SoC. If it was A8 then yeah but I seriously doubt it.

I think having 1 more person buying into iOS ecosystem is worth more to :apple:, than the $10 that an extra 1GB of RAM costs. But hey. I'd probably be terrible at running Apple, in pandering to the masses.

You're applying logic and knowledge to something the average Apple buyer neither understands or cares about.

Apple has a masterful marketing plan that gives them maximum profits while adding or subtracting functionality at their whim.

...not unlike passing judgment on a device 10 days before the specs are determined....

...how dare those evil geniuses even have a marketing department....

I think it's worth mentioning that the SE has the embedded M9 motion co-processor but NOT the barometer, despite a barometer being included with the A/M8 and 6S's A/M9. Even the A8+ iPads have a barometer. So, while unlikely, I'd say that it's very possible that the SE could have 1GB of RAM.

I agree. I also noticed that it lacks the barometer so I'm skeptical. I do think it has only has 1 GB ram.

They could have easily used an A8 processor considering the price. They didn't.

The general public relies on tech savvy relatives to give them advice. If this has 1Gig of RAM, all tech savvy relatives will be telling them to avoid like the plague.
I'll tell you one thing.. I can run around screaming my head off how the new iPhone is bad because of its lack of ram and it will go on deaf ears. They don't care. All they see is a shiny new iPhone.

Yep, I think many are assuming it is actually the 6S put into a 5S body, when that is not the case. It's more of a 5S/6/6S hybrid; borrowing specs from each of the mentioned phones.

Specs from 5S: Body, display, front-facing camera, TouchID, lack of barometer
Specs from 6: WiFi, battery life, LTE, ApplePay
Specs from 6S: Processor, rear camera, Live Photos, Retina flash, video recording
Also missing: 3D Touch

So it makes sense why it's called SE and not given a number.

That's the point, Apple has become the master at getting enthusiasts to believe Apple cares about them. Quite the accomplishment.

But second to the cold hard fact that Apple's never cared so little about anything else. In it now strictly to grab every last penny, most impressive is how millions of Apple buyers fail to see the obvious.

A few people are using assumptions as evidence that this is going one way or the other. The reality is we don't know but I'm betting we will know rather soon. We always find d out something like the day of launch or even a few days before frim those who got their hands on. It early.

If it's not 2gb it's a deal breaker for me but I'm still ordering one to lock in the purchase and Wil simply return it if 2gb ram isn't on board. I don't even really have to wait for any concrete info. I can quickly load ten tabs and see if the performance is up to snuff. Simple.

Apple is a company that attempts to profit from it's customers? Very insightful. I would have never expected that.

Yeah, it's crazy. It's almost as if they run their company like some sort of ... successful business.

im pretty confident it has 2gb of ram. what disappoints me is they use the same old display like the 5s. because i have seen the 6s in store, the display is much more vibrant.
