I work about 5 minutes from an Apple store as well.

That's too funny - you could have had your MBP all weekend, now you're waiting for adapters - £25.00 adapters you could have picked up 5 minutes from work. You're funny.

BTW, you're to blame for global warming. Rather than walk 5 minutes, someone has to fly to China.

The months I spent on the Waiting For Haswell thread and didn't learn this.

Do you think the 30th to the 1st delivery time is realistic? Had to order the damn thing online due to using my girlfriend's educational discount.

I don't think thia is correct. I ordered my BTO with an adapter, and it was shipped seperately. It's already arrived, but still waiting for the laptop.

Doesn't matter. Edu discount does not apply to cables and adapters. You coud probably get it by the 30th, but I think Apple could be punishing you.
All you have to do for edu discount is let them know that - they don't really verify. Even if they did, no worries.

You can simply cancel your order and place one without those pesky adapters. If UK has the store pickup, you can do that. If not, it'll ship the next day. And you can walk 5 minutes for the adapters.

OMG, it's 4:14AM and you just made me burst out laughing. I've waited since Feb for Haswell and it would be such a laugh if I could have just picked up my unit from the store.

That's cool. I say just wait it out and laugh it off later - over another bottle of wine. Maybe you can call Apple and complain and the ridiculous delay. They might realize their error and give you a free gift - maybe a case, sleeve, optical drive ?

Mine says that has just arrived to Dubai. It has to travel a lot more to reach the UK. The weird thing is that local time in Dubai right now is 14:10 however the tracking info says 10:32. I am crawling the page so I know that they just updated it with this entry. So it either arrived in Dubai 4 hours ago but they updated the status now or they just don't provide accurate information. It's getting more and more hilarious...

At least Europe shipments don't go though the US...

I wonder if they don't update the statusesseses(i?) over the weekend? No way is this going to get to the UK next week if they haven't even dispatched it yet.

Well, my girlfriend is working from home on Thursday, we're both on holiday on Friday, and I'm not really going to have the chance to use it until then. If it's not here by Friday I'll be complaining!

I held off upgrading my Santa Rosa MBP after not being convinced the first rMBP's were quite ready, and put up with a dissapointing WWDC. This wait should be easy.

It's at my local sort facility, really hoping it will update to Monday, but they're estimating Tuesday.

Ditto. It arrived at 5AM on Saturday, but no activity on Saturday, so I am assuming it will not be shifted to Monday. they would have had to transfer it to my local area to make a Monday delivery....

Ugh. Mine is still processing and I ordered on the 22nd at 10 PM EST. On 10-25-13, I called the CC company to assure the charge went through and sure enough it was declined due to it being a high dollar purchase so I had to re-authorize the sale manually via apple.com after giving the CC company the OK. Apple says everything is normal when I called yesterday. The order status on Apple.com isn't updating past processing though, and still says expected delivery is 10-29-13 to 10-31-13. Do you think I'll really get it within these time frames? I sure hope so. Edu Discount/15"/i7/2.6/16/512

Update: Just went to Preparing for shipment! Still on the same delivery time schedule of 10-29-13 to 10-31-13.. Hope that sticks!

1. Are these rMBP all shipped from China? I see yours are from China, I thought they were sent from around the world. Is it because they're BTO and can be customised only in China?
2. For the people who already received theirs: When did you receive yours compared to the estimate delivery?

I ordered mine on Wednesday night, a 13" rMBP with 256GB flash and 16GB RAM.

Apple says it'll get to London between 30th October and 1st November. UPS says Estimated Delivery 4th November. Which one should I trust? It would be quite disappointing if I get it more than a week from when I ordered it, but ah well.

I think i have deduced this: 8:40 is when that flight from Japan officially entered the lower 48's airspace. It is headed to customs so maybe they can pre-clear things before it lands. I am guessing we will se an arrival scan in about 2 ½ hours when it lands in Memphis.

My 15" BTO (2.6GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, 16GB SDRAM, 1TB Storage) that I ordered mere minutes after the Canadian store came back online on Tuesday has been still sitting in China since Friday as well. It's travelling to the Toronto area.

The scanning doesn't seem to make sense to me. It's been scanned twice for Export, but has an Arrival scan after its Departure scan.

I've been keeping tabs on most of the flights from Shanghai to Anchorage, but so far no scans at ANC.

All of mine in the past have come from China. I think they are manufactured in China. In the US, it has been my experience, that they usually arrive a little earlier than the estimated delivery date, but I don't know about London.

Hasn't updated since, meaning it's still sitting in Shanghai. Not sure what it was doing for the 10 hours between the time it left a shanghai facility and the time it arrived or rearrived at a Shanhai facility, but now it hasn't moved since.

Trying to be patient, but what the hell? Does Fedex just flat out stop throughout the world on Sundays? I know they don't deliver on Sundays, but do all Fedex facilities just flat out shut down and they don't even move packages?

I thought mine left Shanghai with the UPS81 this morning. But that plane has been sitting at Louisville for 5 hours, and my status hasn't updated. So either nobody's unpacking on a Sunday, or it's still in Shanghai.

There's a plane from Louisville to Toronto at 4.40PM, but it hasn't been scheduled on the board yet. So it may not fly today. I know this is still within their time estimate, but this is painful to watch.

So true. How many times have I tracked the status as if it's going to change. And BTW, why am I still racking it? I leave town today and don't get back until Thursday - it's scheduled for Wednesday delivery and I'm still tracking.
