The rMPB BTO Shipping Thread

I installed Parcel on my iPhone and Mac and paid the £1.49 for push notifications. It gives you instant updates as soon as the parcel company updates the status of your package. Great app, it's free without push notifications btw.
 
arrival scan was delayed by 6 hours, but it arrived at 630am local time in louisville! woo. anyone know where it goes next? (final destination is montreal)

Not necessarily. It means that FedEx submitted paperwork to US Customs, from what I've been able to tell.

Anyway, the plane just landed in Memphis, but no arrival scan yet.

Netherlands-bound 13"/16GB/512GB departed Dubai an hour ago.

I guess that it is now going to Cologne. Does someone know how can I track the flight?

Holy crap - you're actually tracking the plane?I guess if the delivery truck gets a flat, you'd be there quicker than AAA to help out.

Hah, true. I'm actually thinking of having FedEx hold at the warehouse for pickup since I'll be at work. Dunno if it'll delay delivery though.

I probably would have done the same if I lived in a different home, but my building has a doorman who receives all packages. If not, I might have faked an illness so I could work from home this week.

Just relax and enjoy your pre-MBP days. You know you're not getting much sleep when it arrives. In a way, I'm happy for those who receive theirs on the 30th or 31st. Some will suddenly come down with an 'illness' and skip halloween parties. Me, I've got a good excuse. I'm flying back home on halloween.

It should have been in Cologne by now because the flight travelling from Shanghai to Cologne via Dubai has landed 1 hour ago in Cologne. I hope that this update was wrong..... (Mine was updated exactly as yours)
 
Looks like if the package doesn't make it out today, it won't go out until Tuesday. FedEx's flight between Memphis and Orlando seems to only fly Tuesday - Sunday. Curious. I can't find record of a flight scheduled to leave today though so maybe not. I'm not good at figuring out stuff on FLightAware.

FlightAware only has information for flights the airlines have actually filed. FedEx and UPS generally only file flight plans an hour or two before departure.

Is the final destination Orlando? You have to account for the mini hops. I was trying to look at old tracking numbers to figure out the path from Memphis and the other hubs / cities before it gets to me, to see if I might get mine earlier than Wednesday :)
 
Finally an update on my order: preparing for shipment! Still says in store pickup for November 4
 
Ordered on 10/23

I ordered my BTO rMacBook Pro on 10/13 and tracking shows it is due to arrive on Halloween. :)

Hasn't updated since, meaning it's still sitting in Shanghai. Not sure what it was doing for the 10 hours between the time it left a shanghai facility and the time it arrived or rearrived at a Shanhai facility, but now it hasn't moved since.

Trying to be patient, but what the hell? Does Fedex just flat out stop throughout the world on Sundays? I know they don't deliver on Sundays, but do all Fedex facilities just flat out shut down and they don't even move packages?

The origin facility is the factory where they assemble your computer. It left that facility just prior to 1 am on the 26th. It was scanned in (arrival) at the FEDEX shipping facility at 11:23 am same day. They scan before they put it on the vehicle, which is NOT the same time that the vehicle departs the origin facility, unless it just happens to be the very last package onto the vehicle. Then the vehicle drives to the FEDEX sorting facility and is unloaded, at which time it's scanned again. Again, this is not necessarily the time the vehicle arrived at the sorting facility, unless yours was the veery first package off the vehicle (also assuming the vehicle was unloaded immediately upon arrival, which is probably unlikely).

If you look at others posted tracking sheets, you see packages in the Shanghai FEDEX facility for 18 hrs before showing in transit to Narita, and some 27 hrs... Timing is also everything, waiting for the next flight out...

We got exact same times on the UPS tracking information.. So they are probably traveling together :p

Mine is coming to Belgium tho :)

There's a plane from Louisville to Toronto at 4.40PM, but it hasn't been scheduled on the board yet. So it may not fly today. I know this is still within their time estimate, but this is painful to watch.

Painful indeed.

I have noticed that there's a UPS83 (which, based on the Activity Log, seems like a non-standard flight) which is due to land at ANC in about an hour. It's possible there's some machines on that, but without a departure scan from Shanghai, I'm not terribly hopeful about it.

Thanks, but it's kind of frustrating when I have now ordered the machine 5 days ago and it's still in China, when Apple quoted a shipping time of 1-3 days from order. I expected it to certainly be stateside long before now.
