my replacement had arrived this afternoon and I am loving it!

for those who think 8GB isn't enough, I'm running pretty much every application i use daily at once, with no loss of performance or strain on the memory (still in the green). Along side this there was 6 tabs open in Safari, and a Windows 7 VM which is hogging 4GB ram for itself!

Now although activity monitor shows some swap 1.8mb, this happened when i went passed the 8GB mark and while sorting itself out (allowing some of the file cache to be used), after that no more page outs and smooth sailing as i opened more apps.

I managed to get a good deal for a brand new max out 13" Haswell 2.8/16/1TB ($2400 shipped) through Ebay, so I' joining the Haswell revolution! :D

I have a question for new Haswell 13" / 15" rMBP owners: Do they come with any cable adapters (TB to Ethernet or TB to VGA/HDMI) ? I asked because my first 15"rMBP came with adapters, but the 13 inch 2012 rMBP units have purchased came with no adapters at all (wonder if that is still the case with the new Haswell units)

No adapters, 13" Haswell rMBP.

None of the rmbp's come with adaptors. Must have shipped to you by mistake.

I'm finally at the point of being able to (maybe) track. ^_^

BTO: 2.3GHz 15", 16GB, 1TB.

The wrinkle is that as it was financed, Apple apparently insists on delivering everything in a single delivery, and it's coming alongside a new 2GB Time Capsule and 128GB WiFi/Cellular iPad Air.

So, whilst the order says:

Dispatched on 15 November 2013
Delivery: 13 Nov, 2013 - 20 Nov, 2013

.. the detail only says:

Est. Delivery 25 November 2013
Carrier
Tracking Number
Reference Number [removed]
Please Note: Your items dispatched from different locations and will be merged together before delivery. Once merged, your Order Status will be updated with carrier and tracking information (at latest 48 business hours before your estimated delivery date).

(Ordered on Fri, Nov 1, with the payment coming through the next day)

So, I'm not quite sure if I'll even be able to track the order. Has anyone else encountered this merging? Does it take place in Shanghai, or closer to the final destination?

(Shouldn't this be "The rMBP Shipping Thread"?)

Looks like they're still giving a 3-4 week shipping estimate for 13" with 16gb memory, with the current estimate claiming a Dec 17-24 delivery date. This doesn't bode well for those hoping the actual delivery would be sooner than estimated...

Yeah, it's disappointing. Hopefully soon the 3-4 weeks shipping goes down to 1-2 weeks or back to normal.

I ordered a 13" 2.8/16/1TB on 08. November.
It went to "prepare for shipment" today (to Germany).
Ready to ship time when ordered was 1-2 weeks.
So its in time ...

Im usually a pretty patient person, but evidently not patient enough when it comes to expensive tech. Finally buckled and bought a 15", 2.3, 16, 512 at a local Best Buy today and am super stoked with it so far :D

ugg was going to go 13" 2.6gh/16gb/512 myself but this 3-4 week is killer. Might wind up caving and just getting 2.4ghz/8gb/256 instead only problem is I'm not sure I can live with the reduced disk space since my current mac has a 320gb drive with only 20gigs left free.

You should still be able to get the 2.6/8/512 immediately. It is only the 16gb RAM option that is holding these up.

That is good to hear. Hopefully the 3-4 weeks shipping estimate drops soon.

yeah I was going for 16gb since its a $200 difference. To bad ram isn't upgradable later :( Since I plan to keep this computer 5 years 8gb I'm thinking it might not be enough.

decisions decisions :p

Agreed, 16gb will certainly future proof such an expensive piece of equipment a bit longer. Check out the edu store for a couple hundo off, I don't think they require verification anymore.

Have you tried going through the edu store and completing? Seems a bit weird that they'd just lose a few hundred without checking

Not weird at all. Anybody can do this. It requires no verification at all. You can purchase just as you would on the regular online store.

I bought a 13" through the edu store with no verification required. I then went to a best buy and asked them about edu discounts and they price matched a 15" for me, also with no verification.

The last computer I bought (in 2010) came directly from an Apple store on my college campus, so I thought maybe they still had that info on file or something, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
