Annoying. My screen had problems and they wouldn't exchange it for me since it was a BTO. I had to refund the machine and now have to wait three business days before I get my money back to my account so I can order AGAIN. What a terrible policy. And the woman at the Apple store was being an irritating bish, telling me there is no problem with screen and its a software issue. Idiot.
Yeah, mine is the same and has gone over the 55 hour mark

Size-wise, how much different is it from the ipad 2? Trying to decide between the ipad mini or air. I tend to go all out and maybe I should consider more portable options.

I was about to buy the same one today. A customer service rep I talked to said it is the 16gb memory option that is holding things up.
What a total pain in the ass. I ordered a 13 2.6/512/16 last week and the shipping was 1-3 business days but saw yesterday it has been changed to 3-4 weeks. not great when I'm buying it from hong kong and leave next week! not happy with apple on this!
Ordered today. Have to wait for it to ship. But looks like I'll have the mini before I get my Mac.

Well mine is now saying it's in Edinburgh. Looks like it never got scanned leaving Gerrmany, or Arriving in England. But got scanned leaving England this morning and arriving in Scotland.
So it's prob not been in Germany that long, just that they are rubbish at scanning for tracking purposes. Should get mine today, so I would be surprised if you don't get yours tomorrow.

Mine went hypersonic overnight, covering about 100 miles in five minutes!
And then they still managed to put it on a delivery truck even after three calls to Apple to make sure that it was held at the depot... Sometimes it seems like the Apple store staff make the right noises, but then don't actually do anything.
hopefully mine will be here in a couple hours, having also gone supersonic from Stansted to Heathrow (Feltham) in about 5 mins, it has been out for delivery since this morning. UPS usually get here around 2pm...
My thoughts exactly, I haven't even been able to get through to them on the phone to complain about it yet. Now I have to decide if I wait a month or buy without the ramm upgrade, neither of which I want to do. Anybody else have this happen or was I just unlucky?

I am having the same issue as you. Hopefully they get the parts sooner than expected.
Right, got mine today! I transferred files from my other mac (late 2011, 15 inch) and can just say WOW. The display is amazing. I do not see a problem with the screen, no yellow tint that I can see and I am at 6 bars brightness and it is plenty of brightness for me (Samsung A01 for me). No cracking noise so far either. Happy camper here!
Wow. That sucks guys! Apple dropped the ball in preparing for the BTO orders it seems.

Are you in the US? If so, MacMall.com might have the configuration you want in-stock.
I ordered my 2.6 16GB 256 SSD from them because of the longer lead time for the 16GB Ram upgrade.
I ordered yesterday morning, and my rMBP should be here any minute.
