I thought there were seams so the bezel/case could flex and click at those points like a button, e.g. the side one for the camera app. One downside to my theory would be the one on the top (can't think what you would use it for).

There is no evidence to anything that resembles a button in the Gizmodo teardown pics. We will know in less than a week now though :)

Some people in another thread said: "Why not paint the seams to match the aluminum case." My answer is: If it is indeed rubber, paint will eventually chip off VERY quickly and would be useless in the long run.

I saw somewhere (I think the OS4 vid on Apples site) that users will be able to control the music while the iPhone is still in your pocket. Kind of like the magic mouse. Maybe something to do with that?

Why you call those seams? I still don't get it.

Shock absorbers: I don't think so. The screen itself always has a rubber seal/weatherstrip to maintain the glass avoiding contact with the surrounds.
The glass on the iPhone screen is tempered, right? so it will shatter by design when the internal tension is released.
The ones with the theory that they are bumpers, why as they are in different locations?

Sensors, why? It has the multitouch screen, gestures will do the expose.

There is something else we don't know about those.
