I had the iPhone 6 Plus, 6s Plus, then the SE and then several Android phablets and finally the 7 Plus. Throughout owning the 6 Plus and 6S Plus I hated the size and resented carrying the larger phone just to have the better camera specs offered at the time. Somehow after having the SE then going to the Samsung Note 7, it was like a switch was flipped and it all ceased to matter. I adjusted to carrying two large phones, not just one. It's just weird how these things go.

I really didn't feel the 8 Plus felt that much heavier than the 7 Plus. It definitely feels heavier and more solid than my Samsung S8+. My S8+ feels fragile like thin wafer cookies.

Received my 8 Plus yesterday and have been using it heavily since then. I don’t mind the additional couple Gramms at all. It feels nice, solid and much less slippery than my previous Plus phones.

6 Plus was the lightest. Can easily feel that it is thinner and lighter. Wish they kept it that light.

8 Plus feels like a rock.

I exchanged my 8 plus for the 8. I just couldn’t get used to the size and weight again. Loving the 8, but wow-the battery life is nowhere near as good as the plus...tradeoffs, I guess.

I am changing from iPhone 6 (in a bulkier Cygnett Workmate case) to iPhone 8 Plus (in a slimmer Apple silicone case), I do notice the size difference but the weight difference is small. May be I am an adult man who do regular gym exercise, but those who are whinging about the Plus iPhones being heavy should hit the gym too. I recommend doing some biceps curl :p

I checked out the new 8's at local Apple Store and the first thing I noticed was how heavy the 8+ is - I think the 7+ aluminum is better than the glass 8 - there you go!
How could you get a true feel for the weight with them attached to cables?
[doublepost=1506824394][/doublepost]And my god I thought I drank to much tonight! There are a ton of misspelled words and horrible sentences in this thread lol

i just don't get anyone who thinks more weight is something positive.
a phone should be as light as technologically possible, yet made with premium materials.
my 6S+ is heavy. a brick. a cannot imagine i will welcome even more weight.

wouldn't you like the lightest futuristic device?
heaviness is simply being stuck with the limitations.

Your Post is out of proportion. By my observations, look how far the iPhone has come in terms of being thin, lightweight and compact. I would suggest looking in retrospect and past history of how far phones have become from where they first were ten years ago. The transition is astounding how phones are so powerful, yet so light and thin.

i don't get what you mean.. i didn't say it ISN'T as light as possible with hardware limitations.
i only said a device should be as light as possible, not "a good heavy premium feel" as many prefer.
i will always expect newer devices to by lighter and thinner.

Which Is exactly my point. You're saying you expect newer devices to be lighter and thinner, and I stated, look in retrospect how far devices have come from where they where they once were to where they are now. Apple had made that transition every year with their iPhones, even if the iPhone 8 is slightly heavier, is that really negligible when someone's holding in their hand to discern the difference? I highly doubt that.

what's wrong with me expecting technology to make these devices lighter and thinner?
i always feel we are not advanced enough yet.
same as i expect electric cables at home to be obsolete ;)

There's nothing wrong with having expectations of what you want, sometimes expectations are not always reality. But I do think the devices we use today are incredibly advanced and powerful, and physically light weight and thin. It's Much better than it was 10–15 years ago, where technology was once.

i agree with you 100%,
but all i meant was i don't agree with people here preferring a heavy device for "premium" reasons.

Good post. Excuse me, could you take this wheelbarrow? I need to answer my phone.

Was using a 6 since it was released. Initially wanted an 8 but then decided that this should be the upgrade I go to a + sized iPhone.

I regret that decision. The bigger screen is great but the size, weight, and sheer heft of the physical form of the phone is too much.

Will be exchanging the 8+ to an 8 after about a week of using it.

It’s this kind of attitude that has led to the general battery life decline caused by putting in too small a battery to modern phones to keep things thin.

this is again, NOT what i meant. a phone should be advanced enough to FIRST have a great battery, and only then, be as light as possible. thought i was clear on that.

im so glad that there are some readers who agree with me.

those that don't can continue on thinking they are elites at apple with their smug sense of self satisfaction.

samsung has made a phone that is a BETTER screen, THINNER and LIGHTER phone with a GINORMOUS battery.

But you buy apple cuz of its 'premium feel' LOL, go home! this is absurd its making me LOL IRL.

Next....
