If anyone uses a Mophie Juice Pack Air on their iphone 5/5s (I do), here are the dimension comparisons...

5/5s With JPA - 2.58 x 5.55
6 - 2.64 x 5.44
6+ - 3.06 x 6.22

Obviously the 6 and 6+ are thinner than the 5+JPA.

So needless to say, for ME, the 6 is right around the same size as what I'm currently using with the fact that the screen size will be a little larger. Yet, it still feels small to me. With that said, the 6 will definitely be pocketable for those who want it.

But I can already tell the 6+ will be pocketable for me.

Also, it's easy to tell that Apple will make the "plus" versions of new releases the flagship models with the bonus features. The 6s will probably get some feature that the 6+ currently has, and the 6S+ will probably get something updated. Or they'll be in the 7... whatever... you get the point. Not everyone needs these features, but you get the idea.

I used the Mophie comparison about 30 minutes ago. The 6+ has a bit more battery life and my thought was if I bought a 6 with a Mophie, I may as well get the 6+.

I was going to buy a Mophie for my 5 until I replaced the battery.

I'll be interested in seeing benchmarks, but a lot of people I know who have iPads hardly use their phones, so perhaps staying with my current 5 or getting a 6 will be a better idea since I plan to get the iPad this year anyway.

Yeah if I get the 6+ I will not need get a mophie. If I get a mophie for the 6 then it will basically be the same size as a 6+.

I also have an iPad mini retina. Many will say it's redudant. But it really depends on your uses. I use my phone to connect with people. I use my iPad for content consumption (reading, videos, documents, sheet music, etc). I can say that with a 6+ I can do more quick reading and be more productive with emails as well as getting through videos.

So really, just evaluate your uses. Since you haven't bought an iPad yet that is still up in the air for you.

My only issue with the 6+ size is when going to the gym and holding it up to my face (i prefer headset calls anyway). Otherwise it won't bother me.

I haven't bought an iPad yet because I haven't wanted to spend the $800+ to get the one I want and I know that multiple devices means I will use one way less.

Depends on how you use them. I have a MacPro, a MacBook Air, an iPad Air and an iPhone 5 (soon to be a 6 Plus.) I use them all for different things. None gets neglected.

What can your MacBook Air do that your pro can't?

I recently consolidated my devices. There is only 24 hours in a day, time divided across multiple screens...sheesh.

I have a HTPC, a laptop that connects into monitors and an iPhone. I've tried to figure out a way to reduce that further, as my HTPC is on maybe 6-12 hours a week.

I'm just so torn. I can buy at midnight, I just don't know which.

Be portable?

It's a MacPro, not a MacBook Pro, though I do still have my 2009 MacBook Pro too, but never use it since upgrading to the Air. I kept it because of the optical drive, which comes in handy every once in a while.
Oh, MacPro. duh. Sorry.

I just don't know what to get! Arg!

(I wonder if those contact bubbles are optional in messaging. I don't have any contact pics.

I'm leaning towards the 6 Plus for now. 1080p and IOS outweigh any performance hits, possible app scaling issues, and size issues carrying the phone around.

I don't carry the phone around with me at the gym, though maybe I should start... In which case I should consider the standard 6. I could get by without IOS and I would be saving $100...

*sigh*

It wouldn't surprise me if in benchmark tests that the 6 doesn't work out quicker & the same in real life. After all it has a lot less pixels to push that aren't scaled.

The more I've thought on this the more I am persuaded to get the 6, plus it's cheaper.;)

I see what you did there. ;)

But I looked into it further and Arstechina did indeed claim that although you couldn't detect any blurriness, transitions and animations were not as smooth as the iPhone 6. It isn't scaling, it is downsampling, but it still taxes the GPU.

Did the plus need more powerful hardware I wonder.

Interesting... Another reason for me to consider the 6 over the 6 Plus.

Interesting twist: I showed a to scale representation of the iP5, iP6 & iP6+ to a non-techy person and said "if they are all free which do you pick?"

He picked the iP5 and said why do I want which a big phone?

Just got back from Best Buy with my fancy cardboard cutout.

the 6+ is as tall as the FL Flex! As wide as Note 3. Seriously....
I actually thought about switching to Samsung for a bit for the perfect sized Galaxy at 5"-5.1" A 5" would've been perfect for me.

It's so ridiculously big. Maybe fine to hold and use, but not CARRY which is important and I wonder if people aren't considering that as much as they should.

Do I want the 6+ ? Yes. Will it work for me in real life? Um I don't think so. It's sort of Freeky in it's size and I think even 'embarrassing'? For lack of a better word. I don't care what people think in any way - but it's.... SO big. I think I would've taken thicker to have less of a giant slab. If Apple trimmed the top bottom like Samsung has - it likely would be OK 'ish'.

I'm really pissed off right now LOL I wish I could buy both.

Still don't know which, but I'm thinking of buying one, selling it on eBay, using the profits to buy an iPad and keeping my iP5. When I had an iPad 3 for a few months I hardly touched my phone.

I have a 4.7 inch spine case and a 5.5 inch spine case and the 5.5 is humongous. Its almost scary that I am considering getting one. Feels like I'm holding a pancake.

I really think Apple screwed their consumers when they gave the 6+ added features that they knew would attract buyers to the larger of the two devices whether they liked the bigger screen, felt comfortable with it or not.

From the first announcement, I told myself that 5.7" was just too damn big, but when I saw the added features such as additional functionality when in landscape mode, better camera and better longerlasting battery...I was almost disappointed, because I knew that I would be the guy that drank the koolaid and bought the 6+ anyway just so I wouldn't do without all "the goodies". :(

Having said all that, I am almost afraid that I'll buy the 6+ and immediately feel uncomfortable with that huge slab of aluminum in my pocket...especially with a case that's sure to be on it right away.

*sigh*

Aside from the camera (yea... I can't argue against that and have no idea why they did this... perhaps to better justify a $100 price change?), there really aren;t an added features. I am discounting the "iPad interface" because, let's face it, that lends itself to a very large screen. I think that interface would be rather silly on the 4.7" phone. Fewer pixels, lower resolution, and obviously less screen real-estate.
