I am leaning more and more to the 6+, I’ve been carrying around the cutouts of each one since the announcement just to see if that would help me decide. I think I am just going to have to see them in the store and make a decision then. Also on the fence about what color, if they had a true black I would go for that but I am not crazy about the space grey.

For sure getting the 128gb though.

I think its like a new TV. Initially that new 60 inch LCD TV looks huge in your family room. Then, as time goes on, you get used to it. And you wonder why you didn't pay a few hundred more for the 65 inch.

I never heard of anyone saying they wish they went smaller.

While you don't carry a TV around in your pocket, it seems like the 6 plus still fits in a normal pocket -- so it is still portable without being carried only by hand or in a separate bag. So I'm leaning towards the plus. I don't care about one-handed use. Even with my iPhone 5 I rarely do that.

Note that I have an ipad air for home use.

This is the video that sealed the deal for me to go with the 6 instead of the 6+.
http://youtu.be/o8Y8HMCz7p4

I don't wear skinny nor big boy jeans....but it shows how tough the 6+ could be to carry comfortably in your pocket.

yes i've used both the original note & note 2 & at first i tried to justify to myself that i wasn't bothered by their size but in spite of trying the route of the larger phone twice i just couldn't get used to them. I ended up finding using them was chore plus they ended up giving me rsi with all the over-reaching trying to use the larger touch screens.

rsi?

Stayed up until 3. Ordered the plus at 3:45. Woke up at 7. Instant buyers remorse. Cancelled. Ordered a 6 minus. Feel much better. Still arriving on launch day. ######

Pulled the trigger on the 6+. I'll give it a go for a couple weeks, and if it's completely unbearable, I'll return it for a 6.

Are folks considering the 6+ weighs 6.07 ounces? I suggest finding a slab that weighs 6.07 ounces around the same size to feel the difference between that and a weightless piece of cardboard :) About 3 ounces more than 5

I don't see anyone mentioning weight differences.

And only 1 person brought up the 6 has better contrast ratio.

But you don't carry that 65" tv around with you everyday.

Optical Image Stabilization alone is enough of a reason to go with the 6 Plus. That can make a tremendous difference in photo quality by reducing blur in low-light situations.

They are blinded by the light of the 5.5" screen or having the "best".

As a chl holder, yes, every ounce matters when carrying. Add a case, more weight. Even the 6 weighs more but not 6+ more.

Given weight and dimensions, definitely the 6.

My TV is only 40" :(.

Anyway, there's no downside to a larger TV except the price. The 6+ is less convenient to hold and more expensive.

Is that a joke, how can you compare something that stays at home to something that is with you every day.

Thats like saying no one ever regretted getting the bigger laptop instead of the smaller one. By that logic we should have all 60 inch laptops with us at all times. Portable = smaller, I love my 11" air for the portability which I value, just like I will value on the 4.7".

It's like you know I'm regretting buying my 55" instead of the 65" .... Went 6+ because I knew I'd regret it if I didn't and also went 128GB in space grey.
Only dark/black iPhone I've had has been the 2g and 4, everything else white or gold so I thought I'd mix it up.

The "Should I get the 6 or 6 Plus?" struggle thread (stay positive)

The 6+ is almost the biggest phone on the market. The bezels make it way too big. A Nexus 5 fits a 5" 1080 screen inside the dimensions of a iP6 and a Note or LG G3 does the same with a 5.5" screen and the iP6+. (Forgiving a mm or so)

I bought a 6, but plan to look very closely at the LG G3 before it shows up. Apple really should have shrink the casing. People would gladly trade a couple millimeter in thickness for a shorter and narrower phone.

I'm convinced people have no idea how big the 6+ is as Apples advertising makes the iP6 look like a iP5.

They should have kept the 4", and released a 1080 5" and massively shrink bezels on both.

I took a look at he Note 3 today and it felt ok to hold. The 6 plus is slightly thinner and not as wide so my mind is finally made up and I shall get the 6 plus from my nearest apple store next Friday . I have two weeks to exchange it if I don't get on with it so I can't lose really.

Now I have my iPhone 6 case its made me realise I made the right choice getting it and not the plus considering how much bigger even the 6 is over the 5, let alone the plus.

Just received my Spigen iPhone 6 Thin Fit case (basically got it for size comparison). My first thought was "Oh God, maybe I should buy a brand new 64GB 5s while I have the chance." :p

The more I see the size comparisons, the happier I get that I chose the 6 plus. Although I am concerned that the things I take for granted (pocket carry) might be an issue later. Still... all I wanted was a bigger screen and I am willing to make concessions to have it.

To me, the 4'7 didn't seem that much bigger than my 5s. I decided to go big or nothing. Now wight he larger phone, I will probably sell my older IPAD and use the iPhone 6 plus and macbook air.

I am sure this has been posted on this site, although I haven't seen it, but fairly good video on CNN of the "pocket test"…

So to bring this up again from my perspective, I was so tempted to buy the iphone 6 plus.

My work has a 3d printer and someone printed out both iphone 6 and iphone 6 plus mockups. Putting the iphone 6 plus into my pocket is not a problem, I'm 5' 11" and sitting down with the phone probably wouldn't feel weird once I got used to it. I probably would take the phone out most of the time when I sat down though.

I don't have small hands, probably average or larger than average hands. But trying to hold the iphone 6 in one hand is an issue for me. By my trying to move my thumb to the bottom of the screen to double tap the home button for the shrunken mode, I have to loosen my whole grip because my thumb isn't flexible enough with my normal grip. By loosening my grip up to double tap the screen, the phone could easily fall out of my hand if it's shaken. So one hand use is almost completely out of the question for me. Reaching that home button to double tap on the normal 6 feels like the 5s for me as I have more wiggle room for my thumb.

Anyways just my thoughts. If I have 2 hands free whenever I use my phone I would always choose the iPhone 6 plus. But in the pinch when I have to use the phone one handed or in an emergency to use it while driving, it wouldn't work for me.

I agree. It's why I have iPad mini Retina, Macbook Air 11" and soon the 6 (which, to be honest, is larger than I'd prefer it to be). The only thing I hate about not having the + is that I won't have the ability to have profile pics in the Messages conversation list view (and why NOT Apple? I mean, really. Not like there's not enough space ). But I don't hate it enough to carry that giant phone around. LOL. I shall just jailbreak. :D

+1!!!

I put that (6) case in my hand and thought "gee WHIZ this thing is big!" I was trying to convince my SO that he didn't want the +. Over the phone he didn't sound like much of a believer. But when I showed him the case for the 6 last night he agreed with me. LOL.

Optical Image Stabilization alone is enough of a reason to go with the 6 Plus. That can make a tremendous difference in photo quality by reducing blur in low-light situations.

This is false. OIS actually increases blur in low light situations b/c it leaves the shutter open longer b/c it believes that camera can adjust for the movement in your hands. While this is true, it doesn't account for movement with your subject and in more cases than not, this doesn't work as well as just using a faster shutter. So while the images might have more light with the 6+ (longer shutter), they will also have a tendency to be MORE blurry.

The Verge explains this best below:

But, and here's the key misunderstanding with OIS, it is only able to correct for movement on the camera's side. If you have a longer shutter speed, unless your subject is inanimate and perfectly still, it's more likely that your subject will move in the time that the camera is taking the picture, causing motion blur that the OIS system can do nothing to correct for. You've seen this before, often times when you try to take a picture of a frisky pet or active toddler indoors, they move during the shot, causing a blurry limb or loss of sharpness in key areas such as the face. Having OIS in a camera does not resolve this problem, and in fact, a lot of smartphone manufacturers have exacerbated the issue by relying too heavily on the feature and holding the shutter open for longer than would otherwise be necessary.
