Looking for opinions:

Currently have an iPhone 5 32GB and don't really have any problems. A tad slow loading apps once and a while but no where near as bad as it could be.

I'm not eligible for an upgrade, but if I open a new line I could get a new phone and transfer the line to a iPad that I would buy soon. (used/refurbished Air 64/128GB, most likely)

I don't like "s" upgrades and would prefer to stay on the fresh model cycle.

I see my options as follows:

1) Keep my iPhone 5, do nothing.

2) Buy an iPhone 6 Plus, sell on eBay and use profit to buy an iPad. Keep iPhone 5 for 2 more years.

3) Buy and keep iPhone 6 128GB, buy iPad, sell iPhone 6s on eBay next year, pocket profit, buy iPhone 7 in 2 years, repeat etc...

Suggestions, thoughts?

My only concern with the iPhone 6+ is exercising with it. I had a note 2/3 for a bit and running was definitely awkward. I've since downgraded to a Moto X and while I love the size of it, I'm still torn. :(

this is what the shuffle/nano is for. Even the iPhone 4/5 was too heavy IMO.

I'd do #3. Personally that's the way I'm thinking -- I'll get an iPad mini when they update those (and hopefully it'll be available in 256GB).

Do you have an iPad now? I've heard that iPhone usage dramatically decreases when you get a iPad. That was my experience when I had an iPad 3 for a month or so. (which was part of the reason I was possibly thinking of keeping the iPhone 5)

I have a lot of music and always seem to be starved for space on my 32gb iPhone, is it better to have more storage on the iPad or iPhone or both?

I have an iPad 3, but it's a wifi only model. Honestly, I use my iPhone much more. I only really used my iPad for textbooks (sure was a lot easier to carry that than 1000+ page physiology and biochem books!)

I think I'd use a mini more than the full sized model though.

I can't decide..2 much pressure when choosing for a 2 year contract. Starting to lean towards the 6 now after being mostly onboard with the 6 plus for the last few days. The screen won't really make a noticeable difference as far as resolution? And i don't really shoot a lot of videos so not sure I need the OIS. Better battery sounds nice but so does saving $100.00 and having a phone that is a littler more easier to use when out and about......Somebody help

This wasn't one of your bullets, but is buying a 6 plus 128GB and foregoing the iPad alltogether an option? That's what I will be doing. I think it's exactly the size I have been looking for to be portable enough for my pocket but large enough to replace an iPad in nearly every situation I can imagine myself in.

We have an iPad mini. It more or less gathers dust, to be honest. We are either using out Macbook, desktop pc, or our phones (I use my phones the most) for everything we do. It really depends on your personal usage habits though. My phone is always in my pocket so it's just more convenient in most situations.

I think.... I have finally decided. So after going back and forth about 50 times, I think I'm gonna go for the 6+. I definitely see it as the more "risky" choice, but what's life without taking some chances. I'm thinking I'll adjust to it, plus if I absolutely hate it I'm sure I could return it or sell it.

But now here's the shocker... I've been dead set on the space grey since the announcement, but just within the past hour I've decided to switch to silver. I've had the white backed iPhone 3G, then the black iPhone 4 and 5... Now I think I've gotta mix it up and try the white/silver one :) If anyone cares... :p

Walked around this evening with a piece of cardboard cut to the 6+'s dimensions in my pocket. Barely even noticed it. I recommend you all try that (at least the non-preordering crowd), it helped settle my remaining qualms

Has anyone had any android phones of similar size to the 5.5 6+ screen and what are your experiences like? Did you get used to it? Did it fit in your pocket?

Thanks!

My mom has a Note 3 she got for free from work, so I used that along with this awesome site that displays devices at their actual size according to your resolution and display's diagonal measurement.

The Note 3 is about 1 cm wider and 3 cm shorter than the iPhone 6 Plus.

6+ doesn't look that big to me now.

No screen/display won't look any better on the plus to the 6, even people who seen them next to eachother have said this, don't get caught up in the 1080P, seriously 1080P difference isn't noticeable on a 50" tv to a 50" 720P, now do you really think it would make a difference on a 4.7" screen to a 5.5"? It won't screen is way too small to beable to tell. For the other reason it's to personal to tell you what to go with, both are solid but comes down to size vs portability, my thinking is its a cell phone so 4.7" is big enough to do what I need and an iPad at home.

If I keep the iPhone and DONT buy an iPad, I'd have to at least buy a cheap Android tablet to activate so the monthly cost would only be $10 for the extra line and not $40.

Some say they'd never use the iPhone, some say they'd never use the iPad. I watch quite a bit of video content on my phone now and I dunno if I'd like the black bars on the iPad...but I also don't know if I want such a large phone.

I'd still go that route. But like I said, I use my phone a hell of a lot more. Been watching netflix on it too lol.

I use my phone more than my computer, even in my house. I just wonder if I'd get more or less benefit from an iPad. It'd suck to have a giant phone and and iPad too...

Unfortunately my upgrade is not due until November so I will go to the Apple store and test out both phones. I like the 6 plus but that phone might be too big to carry on a daily basis (imagine the bulge). It's tough to decide until I've actually seen and handled both phones. I don't see what the big rush is...it's a phone. Wait until you've tried it out and then upgrade..

Depends on who you are and what you do with them. I use my phone differently than my iPad, so I won't be dumping either one any time soon... Or my MacBook or my Mac Pro.

If I bought an iPhone 6 now and a cheap tablet to keep my second line pricing low then if I need an iPad I will be able to get one and not feel ridiculous with two large screen devices.

I think this will be a good compromise because what I would need an iPad for I know the 6+ would not be able to do.

Yes I've used both the original Note & Note 2 & at first I tried to justify to myself that I wasn't bothered by their size but in spite of trying the route of the larger phone twice I just couldn't get used to them. I ended up finding using them was chore plus they ended up giving me RSI with all the over-reaching trying to use the larger touch screens.

The "Should I get the 6 or 6 Plus?" struggle thread (stay positive)

My mother has a Note 3 and the 6 Plus is almost the exact same dimensions. She has no problem using it at all. She loves it. She carries it in her hand even when she's out and has a handbag with her. She has for years refused to switch to an iPhone because of the screen. I think now that Apple has released the 6 Plus she'll be tempted.

I have played around with her Note 3, and honestly I didn't find the size to be an issue at all. The big screen is amazing and very comfortable on the eyes.

5.5 does not fit in the rubber cup holders of 2009-2014 F-150s

this is extremely disconcerting to me as this is where I store my phone in the truck.
