We saw it yesterday afternoon. Other than seeing the trailers, I tried not to read too much about the movie in advance, so I was wondering how it would start. As soon as I realized it was opening with an Itchy and Scratchy cartoon, I thought that was brilliant. :D

The movie was pretty good, although I've seen individual episodes that were much better (as I'm sure most of you have). Loved "Spider Pig." Loved the spoofing of "An Inconvenient Truth". Loved that (once again) it's Maggie who shows up to save the family (e.g. escaping through the sinkhole, or dropping the boulder on the bad guy at the end).

I thought it was absolute crap. I think I smiled once throughout, I just didn't find any part of it funny or entertaining. It has dried up. That ¨The united states have found...¨ scene was such a pain to watch that I think I screwed my eyes up. Too many overused cliches.

Probably doesn't help that (IMO) the Simpsons lost it's humour late last decade.
