Clarkson - 'talking money is vulgar'

"Sometimes a little voice in my head goes 'maybe I shouldn't have said that' but then it's too late," says Jeremy Clarkson.

Known for his controversial remarks and outspoken views, the Top Gear presenter adds: "My mouth isn't connected to my brain, it's just ears, mouth and speak. That's the trouble."

...

In fact, the show does seem to go from strength to strength and even Clarkson cannot believe its popularity.

"I just do not understand it," he says.

"I used to put it down to Richard Hammond's looks but they've gone off quite badly, so it isn't that anymore," he laughs. :D
BBC.

I needs me some Top Gear, hurry back to our screens!

hmmm yeah you would think the BBC would scrap top gear just over the criticisms about clarkson but i'm glad they havent, i think theyre was a little easter egg in the last episode of last season that kinda says they should be back, or it might have been the way they commentated the car review video for the aston martin? i think thats the last car test they did, the way it's done you almost know that there going to be back for more moments haha :p

Series 14 looks to start on Sunday, November 15th and yes indeed it will be broadcast in high definition.

As for the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish review, Jeremy has noted that he was speaking only about the current crop of super cars currently available.

Emissions (CO2, in this case), insurance and fuel prices will eventually drive these cars from the market just as they ended the "Muscle Car" era in the early 1970s.

Too bad I can't get BBC HD via Digital Cable over here in Holland.... will be a "normal" BBC 2 event for me...

CAN'T WAIT!!!! :cool::eek:

BTW.... I wonder if the HD quality episodes will be available on dah 'torrent-web quickly too....
Excellent reason for watching them a 2 second time during the week. :D

November 15th on BBC...
It must be a stupid question, but will Canada get it? Im tired of seeing re-runs more than 4 times every 2 weeks.
My boyfriend and I think TopGear is probably the best show to PVR and marathon on friday nights when we don't want to do anything but bask in it's awesome British humor glow.

Don't know how many Americans know of Fifth Gear on channel 5 but I read today that it's been cancelled due to poor viewing figures. It was pretty rubbish, Jason Plato and Vicky Butler Henderson where good presenters but tiff needell and the other guy from the gadget show did my head in.

I'd quite like to see VB-H make the move over to Top Gear and do some car reviews in her own fun way.(she's a better driver than clarky, hammy and may) I know the point of top gear is the 3 guys f@cking about but it's starting to get a bit fake and theatrical for me and would like it to be reigned in a bit to be honest.

What do you lot think?

Vicky Butler Henderson annoys me so much, its harsh but I find a voice and everything irritating. Wish they had really gone and got that super fast German from the Nurremburg ring.

YES! We're upgrading to "super fast high amazing greatest pwnage" internet (best one my carrier provides) that includes unlimited downloading. I'll start downloading all Top Gear seasons tomorrow!

Top Gear Australia (along with the broadcast rights to Top Gear UK) has (have) moved from SBS to Channel 9. Based on my friends Down Under, this means the show is doomed. :(

a) the show is a full hour. SBS aired it in a 1 hour slot (SBS is a non-commercial wide interest TV station, and general has few/no ads) with about 3-5 minutes of ads.

b) Channel 9, notorious for ads. Remains to be seen as to what length time slot they will give the show.

Brilliant! That blog post was very funny too :D

Yes, Andy Wilman is as witty as Jeremy.

Based on what the first episode is to entail, I am very excited about the new series. While hardly a bust, Series 13 is not one that I have gone back to watch again and again.

Not a bdd article, apart from this mistake:
"One of our watchwords, a phrase that permeates our productions, is 'ambitious but crap'," says Hammond, chuckling to himself. "I love setting off on projects like trying to make a car and cross the English Channel." Hammond's Triumph Herald with a sail sunk in minutes and a coastguard called them irresponsible.

So not a bad start to the Series. Not quite up to the hilarity of Series 12 (though I admit it is hard to beat a burning Lorry), but better than the start of Series 13. Do wish we'd seen a bit more driving on the Transfăgărăşan, though that Romanian chopper pilot was mad. Looked sharp in HD.

Also, can't find confirmation of it, but I'm hearing that The History Channel has picked up Top Gear: US for the 2010 broadcast season.

loved it, :D
the roadtest and captain slows dacia sandero getting crushed haha he honestly looked sad about that,
and down and out at having to drive a Lambo for the test haha
oh, the new bmw!!!!!
gotta love the stiggy :D <3

Second episode was a bit of a letdown. The "Geoff" electric car segment was one of the more poorer "How Hard Can It Be?" segments and The News wasn't.

Did like Michael Sheen and while I wouldn't compare a ZR-1 with an R8 (V8 or V10 edition), that segment was decent enough.
