Can't wait to watch the new series. The new trailer looked more epic than than the rest so I'm hoping for some good stuff. Oh and May driving
that ariel atom will be brilliant.

omg I got the Christmas special off bit torrent last night and nearly pissed my pants it was so funny.....seriously it's a must watch episode.

Tiff's back. :D

& "Sacked Stig" :p :p :p

Can't believe that the tuned Ariel Atom is still that much slower than the T1!

<edit>that brunette behind Hammond right now...  :D

Tiff's back. :D

To what extent I wonder. They mentioned that he had filled in for the Stig over the Christmas period and the producers did insist on a Top Gear presenter, but was that just a reference to the old show?

I doubt they would throw him in with the other three, but I really like Tiff, so let's hope he gets some more air time.

I knew I shouldn't have mentioned that brunette.

Whoopsie... ;)

I have noticed in the past that the Top Gear audience are unusually good looking!

That was probably the worst episode ever.

The Skoda yeti is a nice car but really?????? and the Porche thing wasn't funny nor was it very informative and John Bishop..... uuuugh!! Not funny!

I have it on good authority that they give out the tickets in a non-random manner (so there are always women in the audience) and ensure that the good looking ones are at the front.

Hey, I'm finally synched up with the current series!

OK episode, the V8 Atom looks like quite a drive, love the unique engine. Gawd that thing is fast! There is so little structure to it, it's truly a 4-wheel motorcycle.

The Skoda Yeti bit was a little contrived, but I actually like the car. It's a Czech Subaru Forester. The Porsche bit was silly, though I laughed when Richard drag raced the 911 in the Beetle.

I acquired the episode faster this time, got it last night, but didn't watch till today...

I have to agree with Jeremy, I don' really like the GTO...actually, right now I'm not a big fan of any of the V12 Ferraris. The details are impressive, but the car looks a bit boring alongside the 250 and 288 GTOs.

The Australia bit had it's moments, just the beginning where they show up in the prison transportation vehicle pretty much made it worthwhile. I still haven't watched the Australian or American Top Gears, so I don't know what to make of them.

Great to see Jodie Kidd again but there wasn't even an introduction or a reason as to why she suddenly showed up.

Right after watching last night I switched on BBC America and it was the episode where Jeremy tested the regular 599 (with Ronnie Wood from the Rolling Stones as their star in a reasonably priced car). When he turned traction control off he was just as out of control then, so I don't know why he thought the GTO version would be any better! I do swear when they were doing the multiple cut scenes of the original 599 I thought I saw a GTO badge go by. I wouldn't have taken any notice if I hadn't just seen the episode with the new 599 GTO.

Unpacking the upside-down Stig made me laugh.

True

Edit: Another day, another Top Gear controversy. Mexican ambassador didn't take too kindly to the remarks made on sunday's episode.

Sienna Millar in glovebox
Ross Kemp in boot.

Just off the top of my head.

I thought those were funny. Just a throwaway cameo. Though, with me being American, I have to rush to Google half the time to find out who the hell these people are. ;)

I love the way the Stig held that 599 GTO when he spun on track, he was carrying some speed but prevented it from going all the way 'round.

Screw the Veyron...I don't want 1,000WHP. Hell, I don't even want 2,000WHP. I want 3,000 WHP (Wheel Horsepower)

I'll be happy when they test the coming 3,000WHP, 300MPH+ TranStar Dagger GT. Veyron owners, get your check books ready cuz its about to go down.

I thought this was a joke until I saw it was using a Nelson Racing built engine...3,000WHP for Nelson is more than do-able...their pro-street cars are breaking 2000-2500 easily.

Nelson built the engine for the Mosler 9000 MT Supercar, which dynoed around 1900WHP...which when driving on the street still gets around 20MPG.

The problem with American supercars is that they are, with very few exceptions, always machines targeted towards extreme performance and they sacrifice driveability and style. They are also pretty low-volume machines with more racing than road pedigree. Cars from Saleen, Callaway, Shelby, Panoz, Vector (LOL), and so forth are at best impressive street-legal track cars. They are never as well-built or as daily-driveable as the Bugatti, Lambos, Ferraris, Porsches, or even smaller production cars like the Keoniggsegg or Zonda. American manufacturers also rely heavily on Ford and Chevy engine technology - good motors, but can't anybody else in the US build an engine?

I'd love to see a US manufacturer come up with a true exotic sportscar that combines very high performance with driveability, high style and luxury the way the best supercar manufacturers do. The Bugatti's performance is made more impressive by the fact that the car is AWD and pretty docile to drive slowly. The build quality is very high. Cars like the Saleen S7 are rattletraps by comparison.
