i'm so excitied!!! cant wait, am filling in time waiting for that exciting theme tune to start coming out of the tv!

i wonder how much we are going to see of that crazy german woman this series???

...depends how much we see of the stig ;)

if we now have a female stig ... i wonder who that will be!

anyway, its gutting that there are only 6 episodes!

in one of the shows last series she said that she would be doing most of the driving for jeremy as he has done his back in good and proper - maybe test cars around the nurburgring?

that was pretty good!

clarkson was on top top form today, i think he has compleatly given up on PC altogether - which makes him even funnier!

the content was a bit poor though. i thought the ascari looked a bit odd and is it just me who is getting sick of the 911?

*yawns* What utter tripe.
They've got to get rid of the ego that is Clarkson or they're going to actually be worse than Channel 5's 5th Gear

WHHHHHHAAAAAAAATTTT!!!! Clarkson makes the show what it is. without him it would go back to the dark dark days.

i think too many people beleive that top gear should be a "proper" car programme where they look at MPV's and fuel economy figures. the whole thing about the current format is that its meant to be a bit comical, not take itself too seriously and be more than anything entertaining!

though they should get rid of star in a rubbish car - though if they are going to booby trap the cars to wheels keep randomly falling off, that will make it more amusing in future weeks!

I'd just like to see someone with an opinion based on something other than putting down everyone. He constantly moans about the Germans and then buys Merc. after Merc. Also the pre-written ad-libs hurt my ears and eyes.
Stars in crap is one of my favourite bis except when JC says "...would anyone here like to see...", of course or we wouldn't watch, and "...roll the tape...'', he seems to think he's an American anchor. (which sounds close)

Anyone remember the rolls royce on that show? *drools*
It was something like £250,000 sterling.

I'd rather have just 6 shows like last nights, than the whole of the last series because they just didn't have the content to fill that number of shows.

I couldn't stop laughing last night... fanfookintastic!!! :D The Stig arriving at the airport. hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. :p :p :p

I'd very much like an Audi RS4 if anyone's feeling generous. Black with red leater would be ideal

Along with the RS4 I'd have that flying Vauxhall Astra aswell. That was very impressive (i know it wasn't a real Astra).

Hmm.... wait for the coming M3?
Looking forward to it, think it'll be more than 414BHP though? Possible I suppose, they did take the M5 from 400 to 500+ bhp

That RS4 was very tasty though....wouldn't want to think about its fuel consumption though  still, that's hardly the point with a car like that.

Nice thing about the RS4 is the 4 wheel drive. BMW will probably stay traditional powering the back wheels, and judging by the M5, (what a car!! ... Clarkson's ride in it was absolutely historical) the new M3 will get some boost over the ol' 343 BHP.
So: larger, lighter, and more powerful than the current M3.... the new one will be worth waiting for

OK I actually watched Top Gear tonight (someone suggested it)... what was that green 1-seater thing? Loved it!!

(you can tell i'm a girly-girl can't you? all i know is the colour of the car)

:D

I didn't catch the name of it either ...I still have the starting price of £50k ringing in my ears though

It was a Vanwall. Really :p

And at least with the RS4 it seems that Audi have actually made a decent car. Most of the drive is to where it should be (the rear wheels), not turbo and high revving. Basically the opposite of the previous RS cars.

Yeah Jeremy is a bit of a knobhead. He's always putting people down - particularly Americans and Germans. I think the programme is too focussed on the hosts' 'celebrity status' rather than being particularly informative on the cars themselves. I'd like to see more cars, and less 'hey look at me, I'm a TV presenter - come massage my ego'.

THe whole "focus on the car" thing has been done over and over again. The whole point of topgear is that it has turned into an entertainment program. What's more I think its a program with guts. There's no other car mag or show out there that who's first reaction to the M5 was that "at stationary it sounds like a diesel".
There's too many car shows with BS reviews out there, because the car manufacturer pays to have the car reviewed. Sort of defeats the purpose.
About Clarkson: you either love him or you completely hate him. I personally think his reviews are brilliant. I'd agree that he could freshen up his presenting skills some time though.
