Probably too soon, but dammit, it was funny:

:D

Yep, funny!

Not too soon, IMHO.
It's a good thing being able to have a laugh when you need it most.

Richard will love it when he is able to read it. :)

Top Gear has been postponed indefinitely according to the Beeb until Hammond is all fixed and ready to go.

Makes sense I guess. :) So he is coming back to TG?

Get well soon, Hamster! My wife and I are pushing for your speedy recovery (though for very different reasons! :p)

Top Gear is saved!

Top Gear host Richard Hammond’s horror 300mph crash will NOT spell the end of the show.

BBC crews resume work on the next series today — filming TV co-host and Sun columnist Jeremy Clarkson test-driving a Lotus.

And a Lotus! It's a 2 for 1 sale!

Shame, a new Esprit for the 22nd century would put Lotus back into the Supercar club.

I would say the Elise and Exige cars could be catagorized as supercars. They are both exceptionally good cars.

Well they accerate as fast and and handle as well, but for full out speed and, lets face it - tools to attract the ladies the Elise and Exige are not Supercars.

A certain Bond movie and Lotus Turbo Challange on the Amiga have had a lasting effect for me.

Do Lotus still make the Espirt?

I know it falls apart as soon as you put it into gear, but if i won the Lottery or Premium Bonds....

Cool.

According to Wikipedia a new Esprit is in the works, with a probable lauch in 2008.

:)

the lotus garage near me normally has Esprits for sale but im not sure if they are new or ones that they are selling as second hand. The best garage near me is the Aston Martin though; saw a DB5 there.

I'd agree about the Elise not being a supercar, it's a sportscar... much in the same way that a Porsche Boxster is a sportscar and not a supercar, whereas the Carrera GT is most definitely a supercar.

The Esprit, that's a harder one to call... before they added forced induction to it, I wouldn't have considered it a supercar, but in it's final years... it's possibly dipped it's toe into that elite bracket. Maybe.

To be bloody honest the Elise and Exige are closer to a Missian Micra in terms of sheer stress free ease of use.

And there not not much trouble, and its normally not serious.

;)

Can't wait. It has already been announced that they are going to show the footage of the Hamster's crash at the beginning. And yes, it will be a great series.
