Don't sell yourself short! May I name Mash, Band of Brothers, Star trek TNG and many other gems? I'm not a Brit but do enjoy 90+ channels from all around the world :D

Tonight's episode felt a bit nervy, a bit apprehensive, but there is no doubt it is fantastic for it to be back on TV. 10 episodes is plenty of time for some Clarkson, Hammond and May goodness.

I thought it was a great episode - no space shuttles or gimmicky "challenges". Plenty of driving.

I think it's inevitable some people will be turned off by the revised format, but I think it's a "back to basics" success.

Hammond's hair is a travesty, as was that W12 Golf - it sounded so tame during the Stig's lap, he couldn't give it any throttle or it would spin...

To be fair that Aston is a road legal track car. The other's were just lightweight cars.

You can enter that Aston into a pro level race and all you'd need to change is the tyres. The others would need a lot more prep work.

that is one image I could have done without! (and my wife DID choke on her coffee!!)

Agreed not as 'lively' as usual, but still very funny, and looking at the trailer for the future episodes, it looks like it will get back to it's usual excellent self very shortly!

I can't wait...

May has probably been my favorite presenter over the last season or so. He always seems the most sensible one...until he does something silly, like choosing a track car for a Gran Turismo.

I like the part where he sprayed himself with deoderant...and the "naked" shot was great too.

EDIT: has anyone watched the long cut of the news yet - they have it up on the TG website
 
Thoroughly enjoyed last nights episode once again. Until Spooks comes back (soon!) Top Gear is really the only thing I make sure I watch on TV.

I will never tire of their amphibious masterpieces(?) :D

I think I'd take the Audi R8 over the Porsche. It's sexy.
 
Funny reads on the Top Gear website, I've not noticed them before. Production notes from a couple of big specials:

Polar.
US.

Glad we're all agreed on the R8, silly little hamster and his 911 obsession. Waiting to see the V10 version though :eek: :cool: :D
