Well, for 1, Buying a Touch is not buying a iPhone.
Well, no it isn't. But SJ himself said that touch is basically iPhone without the phone. it's also missing the camera and the bluetooth, but let's just slump those in to feature-set that is called "smartphone/cameraphone". We were also told that "touch runs same software on basically same hardware as iPhone does".
And guess what? That is not the case. Yes, it runs the same software, but that software has been artificially crippled. Why is this so hard do understand? You and others keep on telling that "but it's not an iPhone!". Yes, we are well aware of that fact. What that fact has to do with crippled calendar, removal of email and notes, is quite simply beyond me. Could you enlighten me here?
If I bought a Touch, and it was missing Safari then it would represent your example of the car.
Yes it would. As would removal of notes and email,a s well as crippling calendar.
If the iPod Touch was supposed to be an iPhone, then it would be called the iPod Phone.
It's not called iPod Phone since it's NOT A PHONE. But what does that have to do with removal of notes and email, as well as crippling the calendar? Please tell me. Are you going to tell me now that "they crippled the calendar and removed email and notes because it's not a phone". Well, what do those three features have to do with the device being or not being a phone? I can understand removing everything related to the phone-features, since touch is missing the hardware to take advantage of those features, but it DOES have the needed hardware for email, notes and editable calendar. And the software supports those features, but they were artificially removed from the device.
Hell, why does touch have editable contacts but not editable calendar? Where is the logic here?
