Good for you. Many would wish that, but your situation does not apply to their physics :).

Obviously everyone is different. I don't think anyone is trying to convince you to buy anything you don't want. The point is just to show that there are many of us with average builds and average size hands who are having no problems whatsoever with the size of the phone in terms of manageability.

The never-ending compulsion people have to attempt to convince the world that their opinions are factual, or universal, never ceases to amaze me.

I will never tell you that the 6 Plus is right for you. However, don't bother trying to tell me that it's not right for me. I'm perfectly capable of making that determination for myself, mmmmmmkay?

I haven't read one thread/post yet about gaming on the Plus. More for the runner and dexterity games, not necessarily something like Candy Crush.

I would bet manageability would not be easy. It wasn't for me with the Note 3.

This is not an opinion. It is the factual statement, that many 6+ owners are returning their device, buying it because it is the new one etc. And then it is also a recommendation - to consider the choice. I said objectively that 6+ is a good choice for many people.

Probably because devs have yet to release 6 Plus specific versions of their games.

I'm not even sure that is the truth for the author of that blog post. The truth could be they're just trying to get web hits and will write whatever stupid thing comes to mind to accomplish that.

For me it isn't. I bought the iPhone 6+ because I'm farsighted and larger screens are helpful to my vision. I could care less what someone writing for a tech blog thinks or what their generalizations about other peoples motives are in my purchasing decisions.

I would love for someone to shut us all up and post a video of you using this phone one handed. Hop in front of mirror, turn the video camera on, shoot some video, post something on macrumors one handed including the video. I don't believe you can.

I don't think I'd be able to to do this even from the 5S I currently have. Nor would *want* to. My use case for my phone is not to post detailed forums posts while standing in front of a mirror and recording video of myself. I have an iPad, and iMac, and a laptop for that, and when i'm posting here, I'm always on one of those and never on my phone.

What I DO use my phone for: quick SMS replies, access to information (reading e-mails, viewing websites), brief posting and reading on social media. And those I'm absolutely certain that I could do on one hand with a 6S.

Unfortunately, I can't take a video of it though: if you open your iOS camera app, start recording a video, and then switch to another app, video recording stops. ;)

[Disclosure: I think the increasingly large screen sizes are a monumentally stupid idea, and a prime example of people looking at a spec sheet on a Samsung and thinking Apple must match that or be "doomed." But it's what "everyone" wanted and loudly complained to Apple about, so this is what we're stuck with now. That said, I think Apple has done the best they could out of a "big" situation.]

Hop in front of mirror, turn the video camera on, shoot some video, post something on macrumors one handed including the video. I don't believe you can. I am 6'3" and have good size hands and it's not even close to being usable as a one handed device. I have yet to see anyone post it being usuable as a one handed device. Yes, I believe you can hold the phone with one hand, yes you can answer the phone with one hand...but you can't text, browse, shoot video/photos, etc...with one hand.

I don't understand why people keep arguing about this.
Some people have larger hands, maybe they can handle the phone size better than others.
Some people, like myself, just LOVE a larger screen. Yes, I normally need two hands (it makes life easier to use two hands for things), but I LOVE the size. I would NOT go lower than the size of the iPhone 6 plus, ever again. I have been using a note 3 for the past year just because Apple took too long to make the screens larger. I am so happy they finally did!

Hits for what you say? For a forum account? That would be very stupid to think you could gain anything from that.

There really need to be a dedicated section on mac rumors for all of these worthless 6 vs 6 Plus threads that are based solely on the size of the phone.

Oh yea there is one, the wasteland.

I saw the Sony z3 today on the net and thought this is how the 6 plus should have been like.

Many? Because you see some people in a thread on a forum talking about doing so? Seriously?

Absent stats from Apple, the *only* source which could possibly give accurate information, you should never draw inferences about a population from a self-reported, meaninglessly tiny sample.

Full stop. I'll happily let you have the last word because you seem pretty convicted in your need to share your "wisdom.":rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I wouldn't consider that to be the truth as much as it is a bias review. Everyone has different needs and to justify one over the other is just foolish.

absolutely agree, the OP is biased. the screen is big not so you have more places to touch, its big so you can see things BIGGER dufus.

I agree, I posted in another thread the 6+ is growing on me, great two handed device. The screen is awesome, very snappy. What isn't true is someone saying they can use the 6s one handed as easily as there 5.

I didn't lose the ability to handle the phone. I'm using it almost exactly like I used my 5. No real problems handling it with one hand at all.

Completely agree. Female here, 5'2" with average hands for my height. I have typed/texted two handed since the 5 anyway but as far as one handed use for scrolling, browsing, etc. its fine. I've quickly adapted to using the reachability feature, too. Very confortable using it one handed.

The obsession on this forum over using a phone with one hand staggers the mind. It has become hysterical really

The iPhone 6 Plus is not "the" flagship phone. It is for the 5.5" inch screen, and the 6 is the flagship for the 4.7 inch screen. Just like the Samsung Note 4 is not their flagship phone. They also have the GS5. Both would be considered flagship phones for their size.

How so? Is not the iPad Air the flapship iPad? Is not the MacBook Pro 15" the flagship? I would think the Plus is the new flagship.

I do not think using a phone one-handed is unreasonable but if one is OK without that convenience (and it is indeed convenient in many situations) that is ok too. It is there choice and others should feel slighted by what others are willing to do.

Funny that at the bottom of this page, under "similar topics" is "the truth about iphone 5", which was moved to wasteland, where every thread attempting to rationalize one iphone 6 size over the other should be.

When are these stupid threads going to stop? There are countless others covering the same topics

Interesting article.
I loved his "ordering in his underpants" article last week.

The one part where he seriously misses the mark...

He goes through all that trouble to complain about the 6+ but after he gets the 6, no comment.

Does he like it better? Is it the right size now? Are all of his issues solved?

Nada

I want a pocketable Internet device that can double as a phone. One handed use is absolutely not a requirement for me.

Oh,and it must run iOS and have the biggest possible screen while being able to be carried in my pants pocket.

And yes, I have found the device I was looking for.

I think it's already been said,but in case it hasn't :

A phablet is not for everyone. Usage scenarios differ. For some reason we are seeing loads of threads starting that the 6 plus is a failure, too big, unwieldy, not for one handed use and so on.

Well... Different scenarios apply.

Personally I'm surprised at the huge amount of 6 plus sales due to the fact that a phablet is not for everyone

Man, why is it that so many people feel the need to rationalize their choice in phones? It appears as if some people deep down inside are still not sure they made the right decision on screens sizes and need to endlessly justify their choice with these threads. If it's too big for you, great - get the smaller one. Some wanted more screen real estate, better battery life and OIS at the expense of a bigger device. There isn't a right or wrong, it's a choice. As for the article, what a pathetic empty life that guy has if a phone is leaving him feeling miserable. It would have been nice if he had knocked some sense into himself when he dropped the phone on his face, but clearly that didn't happen.
