This is the truth, no one knows yet.
I wanted to make this thread since i saw so many people talk about the a5x like they knew everything about it!
No one knows about RAM. maybe it got a 512 and 256mb, or just 1GB.
No one knows about A5X. Maybe its dual core, maybe its hybrix gpu and cpu. maybe its been upgraded to a15 architecture. maybe not! Maybe its 1ghz, maybe its 1.5ghz!
No one knows about the GPU. maybe its a slight upgraded GPU instead of just 2 cores added!

We're macrumors here. Not everything is the truth immediatly.
But since we're macrumors, i am going to say i actually expect a fairly big upgrade in terms of processing and graphics power. Because the battery still only allows 10 hours while having 70% more battery!!! Ofc the extra led bar behind the retina display(probaly) and the pixels themselfs ect ect sucks up power. but 70%??? Na, i think we're also having a nice cpu/gpu upgrade.

But again.....we know nothing. Dont act like you know until there has been a teardown ;) :apple:

Edit: thanks for the downvote you downvoters. At least i stay at the truth:)

Yep, today as good as confirmed. Not earlier. So shut up;)
I guess I'm not surprised. You probably don't believe the new iPad has a retina display either because that hasn't been confirmed, right? Cause "OMG I need iFixit to tear it down and confirm it for me" right?

although the processor speed is the same, the ram and graphics boost must be having a very slight effect in overall performance. Many of the hands-on reviews stated that it felt slightly snappier than the 2.

So it's been revealed to have slightly less than 1GB RAM. Actual number is 988MB of RAM. Also the Processor clock speed is 1Ghz which means nothing in terms of actual speed. The GPU is also the PowerVR SGX543MP4 which makes it quad-core graphics. All of these won't give you a real feel for how fast the iPad is. You can approximate how fast the device will run but there's still the bus speed which will make a pretty big difference. Right now, this is the most advanced architecture for a tablet or mobile device today. No other device currently has this type of technology. The truth is, this tech might as well be alien because the architecture is so different from the conventional PCB designs that we see in most of our devices today.

It has 1GB of ram. 1024mb. Same as any other device with that amount of memory. Whether Apple is using base 10 to count it, if the benchmark reports VRAM in use (GeekBench does nothing with the GPU), etc determine if it sees all of that ram.

RAM doesn't come in any chips that would add to 988mb. It's all there somewhere.

Its hilarious how people say i was wrong and are trolling about nothing.
I didnt say it wouldnt get 1GB anywhere.

the whole point of this topic was to say that no one knew could be sure about specs, that people shouldnt took it as facts.
Now this topic is not useful anymore.
