If those contract-based price predictions are accurate, then it's looking good.

I just wonder if I might be better going down to a £20 p/m Simplicity deal on O2 and pay for the PAYG phone (trading in my 16GB 3G to offset some of the cost). The next major upgrade won't be for two years, and I would rather spread the cost of the phone over two years than pay out on a contract deal that I can't get out of, should something major happen in 12 months' time...

Still waiting for my e-mail from O2 on how to swap your SIM:D
I was thinking that. I can't believe that they've left all their subscribers hanging out to dry over the weekend with no idea how to fit a SIM card into a phone. What is a "SIM" anyway? Oh wait, they explained that on Friday. I think I get it. Do they explain anywhere what a "phone" is?

With quite a few daily emails left until launch I'm hoping that they're going to spend some time explaining how to open the cardboard box when it arrives.

I'm just hoping O2 subsidise the £45 a month contracts (what Im currently on, and looking at upgrading to!)

Apple say it will follow 3GS pricing, then change their minds and say they have no idea!

At the minute I'm more concerned about how to sign for the package when it arrives! Do you write your initial and surname or your full name? What if it doesn't match your passport / bank account signature - can they refuse to give you it?

Lol. Sarcasm aside... I actually would love it if they sent us a video of them opening up the box and showing us the iphone... i am one of those idiots who goes and looks on youtube for these things... like when the xbox came out, and the ipad etc

I'm currently an O2 contract customer with my 3G, contract has already expired in the last month or two so can upgrade on the 24th.

If I reserve one at the Apple store for collection on the 24th can they handle an O2 upgrade on my current number / account? Or would I need to go via an O2 shop / O2 online to get one?

Thanks.

You will need to go to 02 to do that.

If those prices are correct then there is no question of me biting

It will cost me £220 to buy out my existing contract, then 24 lots of £40 = £960, add them together that is £1180 over 2 years so no way would I consider another £249 on top of that, I can afford it but didn't make the money I have by being stupid with it.

£100 for the phone on a 24 month contract @ £40 is what I am willing to pay, any more then they can go do one

i think orange may be updating the iphone pages because if you go to the buy iphone page and select contract you cant buy it no more it just gives you an empty orange box, but u still get the option to buy it on pay as you go.

I'm still undecided who to go with, I'm currently on orange an contract ends beginning of august and best Orange could offer me to match my dolphin 25 + data bundle is a 2 year contract which doesn't appeal to me. I am tempted to go with either O2 or voda possibly

Does anyone know anything more about pre ordering from Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4 U instead of the networks directly?

I got an email from CPW saying they plan to allow pre ordering this week and the Phones 4 U website actually says they will take pre orders on the 15th.

Surely for new customers wanting to purchase the iPhone 4 these are the best places to pre order from considering O2 won't allow pre ordering?

Maybe not at launch though, we don't know, simple as that, o2 make more money off contracts so if they know they can get people into contracts they will do that first, look through my previous posts to find the pictures of you don't believe me.

i believe you. I just hope that O2 do a PAYGO from day one. If not I will be a very sad person.
