You can always cancel the pre-order. I've ordered mine, but if O2 pull out something spectacular, which I very much doubt, I'll just ring up and cancel.
 
I'm waiting, been rocking the 3g and due a upgrade.. Will wait till all the carriers have their tariffs up & get the best deal..
Also, try to avoid paying a +in VAT

I speculate that there is no advantage to ordering now, compared to say - 4:30pm this afternoon. Who knows what will happen when people start to get home from work and the pre-orders flood in?

Hopefully we get network announcements this afternoon. After all, this is the well-known-about pre-order day for the world's most advanced and popular brand of smartphone. They know about it, but they aren't telling - annoying...

I'm seriously contemplating buying one from the Apple store and getting a simplicity contract. Though some networks have been rumoured to get more data so I might hold out for now.

Someone asked me to post it because they'd put through their reservation and not been told there was no record of it. Just being sure to say don't use this...get your own 🙂 (even though I think that email is just for confirmation purposes).

Been lurking here for a while but finally registered to give some advice but the store is back up now so it doesn't really matter but.....I bought mine before even when the store was down by going back through my history and finding a page with the phone in my basket. After this the order went through fine.

Anyway get ordering!

No price difference (although if you're VAT registered and in the standard scheme you can reclaim the VAT of course) but I need a valid VAT invoice as I'm purchasing through my own business.

I've been away for a bit. Can someone please confirm for me that O2 have not yet had their pre-order/upgrade site up yet?

I know you can transfer photos from the current iphones to the ipad but not sure if it would work with HD movies on the new iphone. Either way it looks like its a long wait for the camera kit and im in no hurry.
 
I'm trying to squeeze an Apple guy on chat for info on prices. They know nothing. And by that I don't mean they know nothing about the situation...I mean they know nothing in general. Certainly don't know how to reply to a question. He keeps giving me irrelevant answers.

I just switched my Simplicity 20 monthly to a Simplicity 15 12-month because if I change next week after the new tariffs start, I'll be stuck with 500mb data. Because I've signed up now, they're locked in to providing unlimited data to me for the next year. I also told them I was considering getting a sim-free iPhone 4 "at some point" and they confirmed they'd send me a micro-SIM with that tariff and my existing number to use in the phone when I get it. Didn't tell them I was getting it next week...

The tariff switch happens tomorrow so assuming my iPhone still works properly tomorrow (don't see why it wouldn't!) I should be fine!

I got valid VAT invoices last year when purchasing iPhone and Macbook Pro on the standard store, too. But thanks for the heads up - I will definitely use the business store for the iPhone 4.

u guys so impatient u cant wait for o2/voda/orange to release their prices? 😱

also if i get it on a contract surely they wil unlock it for free again? i had simplicity (non iphone contract) and they still unlocked my 3GS for nothing so i gain nothing from buying it sim free from apple right?
