This band doesn't have this issue as it has the latch that stops it from getting loose over time. I do find myself making it looser or tighter as my wrist swells or shrinks during the day.
We exactly are saying the same thing.
I was not implying that the band was faulty but rather than it is not flexible like a sport loop or leather magnetic link. With the movement of the band up and down my arm through the day, plus swelling and shrinking issues, I found it distracting to adjust the band so often. I had the same experience with the Hermes buckle band.
Although I do not wear these bands, I find them appealing for certain conferences.

I'm not too worried about it. Who knows the true circumstances of why it broke. If we were seeing 100s of these I would be concerned. I see so many of these bands in the wild that I'm sure Apple has sold many. As with anything mechanical thing it would not be a bad idea to check the connection from time to time to make sure nothing is coming loose. I do this with my mechanicals also as I've seen where screws etc. can come loose and the watch fall off.

This is extremely disappointing as I recently sold most of my ultra bands because I’d decided this is the only band that I’ll ever need because it’s my favourite out of all of them. I’d love to see a video of someone stress test this band as I’d be interested in seeing how much weight and abuse it can take. But what concerns me is that it appears to only be held on by two tiny weld joints and also the two holes below those weld joints don’t appear to use anything to reinforce those joints, it’s as if that process was taken out of the manufacturing process. The biggest problem here is that when it fails and you don’t notice it then the watch is gone and that’s a huge miss on Apples part.

You really think this isn’t an issue?
Look at the two tiny weld joints that are supporting the stress this band will face during wearing as our wrist will swell and contract during the day.
I see those two welding joints and I now see that I wouldn’t be surprised if most of these bands fail under use.
I would love to see some YouTuber do a stress test on this and I’m confident we’ll see a failure rate comparable to the bending iPhone 6 Plus.

That was an overblown non-controversy “controversy” as well.

I’m confident that under normal use, the titanium Milanese loop will hold up just fine. I’m also confident that under mechanical stress that would cause pretty much all other watch bands to break, this one will too. That is not controversial. That is just physics.

I tried my trail loop yesterday and I couldn’t wait to go back to my Milanese loop, honestly the Milanese is more comfortable. It’s also more breathable too, I’m never removing this band from my Ultra ever again.

I change it only for physical activities (running and padel). Why? Because I use daily on the right wrist and move it to the left wrist only during this activities and because an ocean band is more comfortable to keep it washed after sweating 😅

Snap. Wore my trial loop for 3 hours and switched back to the Milanese. Since purchasing it it has been on for 99.9% of the time.

I've been wearing mine since I got it. Running every day, swimming in the ocean and pools, doing weights, and digging up our garden, and I've had no issues at all.

That’s reassuring to know. I’d still love to see a video of the Milanese loop being stress tested but I also understand there’s so many factors that involve that.

Is it pretty comfortable to wear when sleeping? I’m using a sport loop right now and wouldn’t mind something more elegant

I’m using it since when I bought it in December all the time when sleeping and I find it really comfortable.

That's good info. I bought a cheap knockoff on Amazon, and didn't like it because it yanked my wrist hair, so didn't even try sleeping with it.

I used to complain how expensive Apple watch bands (particularly sport loop) are relative to the cost of the watch and relative to the cost of knockoffs (well, I still do), but they are of high quality. You can as a general rule always count on that with Apple.

With the Apple one, no problem with wrist hair (and mine is note a hairless one 😅). In my opinion, it worth every cents that it costs!

Doh! They don't have a Starlight Milanese band for my "aging" Series 8.

Perhaps an excuse to get a Series 10. Although, I would probably buy it in Canada so I'd still have the blood O2 monitoring.

Mine is now on the Ultra 100% of the time. I haven’t even looked at another band since purchase back in November.

It is just so comfortable and looks so good.

I think I must be either bored of my bands or I have just found the perfect look, as my Ultra permanently has the Milanese, my S7 Hermes the Orange Kilim and my S10 Jet Black has the black on all the time.

lol my other 52 bands are just lying in a tray.
