So knowing that I won't have the phone in hand or likely even be in transit for at least a week after launch, I have to thank Apple for forcing me to wait and giving me the opportunity to cancel my 6+ order if I get one in-hand and prefer a smaller phone. My one concern with the + was the size (I'm also wondering if the additional pixels but same processor/clock as the 6 will be a hit on performance), so I'll have time to read reviews and be a bit more informed. No downside there, and my instant gratification addiction wasn't about to let me wait until after they were released and wait 4-6 weeks for a phone after launch.

No snark intended... I really am glad that fate/Apple forced my delayed gratification but will permit me to be less anxious about the model I chose by the time it gets into my hands.

I ordered a 6 and lately I've almost cringed at the size of the 6. I guess seeing in in person will help, but I'm a little scared. There is no way on earth I would have ever gone with the 6+. They are waaaay too big. Maybe good for a purse and using for anything but a phone call. But once you put that thing to your ear, you simply look ridiculous, sorry.

That's certainly a silver lining but not enough for me to give up the excitement of having it on release day. I'm in the boat where I know I wanted the 4.7" model, but I know I wanted OIS and better battery life even more than that. Having handled many phablets, I don't I'll be in for a rude awakening when I place my 6+ in my pocket.

Downloading 25GB of data and apps on the other hand might be a pain. I've got the bandwidth, but I doubt the icloud servers will be able to take advantage of it.

The OP makes some valid points. I have a 6+ due to arrive on launch day, and another due to ship mid-October. We all get caught up in the hype and order virtually sight unseen. I hope my wife and son (the recipients) don't find the 6+ too big.

And frankly, if you are the sort to go out of your way to rub other people's noses in the fact that you're getting your phone on launch day and they're not, well, you really need to get a life.

and you wont have the aggravation of trying to register your phone while Apple/AT&T servers are getting bombarded.

I don't remember this being an issue with my launch day iPhone 5 at all. FedEx guy delivered it around 9:30am or so, I set it up from an iCloud backup, it was up and running with everything from the backup within the hour.

You got a jump on most people by getting the delivery that early. the majority of folks are still waiting for delivery or standing in line at that time. Once everyone starts doing this mid day and in the afternoon the servers get slammed until the evening hours.

IIRC the delivery was "guaranteed by 10am" on mine.

I'm a parent. The things I have to schlepp around for kids...I don't care if I look ridiculous holding a giant slab to my face to make a call. Been there, done that with a Hitachi g1000 anyway and nobody pointed and laughed. Once you carry two oversized three ft long stuffed dolphins two blocks past heavy traffic and all of your neighbors to arrive at a park in front of yet more adults, making phone calls on something the size of Note 3 does not even register on the ridiculous radar.

My only concern regarding the device itself is if the 6Plus is going to work as promised. Or is it going to lag and run hot? It will be an advantage to find this out before my phone is due to ship in early October. The concern I have is that if I do decide to cancel the 6plus based on reviews, will I be able to get a comparable 6, or will that be backordered by then as well?

I held/played with a 5.5" case at AT&T today. Its really too big with any case on it.
It all depends on the person. My wife is 5'3' and loves her 6+ with a case. My 6' 190 lbs. son much prefers the 6. I am 6' and love the 6+ (soon to get the 7+). I thought the 5 and earlier generations were way too small.

Didn't even notice the date. Juggling a few things at once. I made you look. Why in the bloody hell are you responding to a post I made responding to a post from two years ago? :0)

And why in the hell is this old string still posted?
