SG 256 GB ordered through the Verizon App on 10/27 with a delivery date set for December 6. My date hasn't budged.

I feel like your chances of getting moved up a week or so from that are pretty good. Your chances of moving up to launch day delivery are pretty much 0% (though I won't say no chance as there is always a chance). I have 11/10 delivery and am holding out hope for launch day, but very little hope.

Because... It has not been unsual for ship dates to be bumped up in the past. If you’ve nothing of value to contribute to the inquiry then don’t contribute at all. If any with 11/3 see themselves being pushed back to further out ship dates, then I wouldn’t even ask. But as it stands right now, things are moving swiftly for the 11/3 people and all of us are eager about receiving this new piece of tech. So, once again, kindly pump your brakes.
You can take it however you want or say whatever you want man, but blue rocket was right. He didn't come off mean or insulting to me. I ordered at 2:58 ET with an 11/3 delivery, and I haven't even seen movement yet. Many others are in the same boat.
It's more likely than not that you won't see any movement for a while.
I found it very insulting to word his response as though I’m an idiot to have any hope that supply is enough to get bumped up along with others showing the same dates. 11/3 people are pretty much guaranteed their phones short of something happening to stock levels. Nobody here should be made to feel stupid for their excitement and hope that things move along for all of us.
We’re all waiting it seems like doesn’t matter what time you ordered it. I think it’s going by state you’re in. I ordered mine 2:57 AM, I’m in New Jersey, my buddy who lives in Florida who ordered an half an hour after me has shipping confirmation already.
The sad reality of the internet is that there are people out there who insult first, think second. The best thing to do with those people is just ignore them. Feeding the fire never makes things better and just end up with obnoxious arguments and people whom are insulted and no longer find the websites to be worth visiting hence losing out on a potentially wonderful new member.
See, this is the kind of response I can appreciate. Speculation without demeaning the person asking.

As far as your actual question...Sure it has happened, though I would expect it more on the Apple side than the carrier side. Carriers have their stock of launch day phones on-hand already. Once those are sold out the next batch comes afterwards. This is my first year ordering from Verizon instead of Apple (I got impatient this year because I was extremely tired). Next time I will probably go through Apple.

ordered at 1:57 am central time got email at 1:58.. money was taken out on that saturday... showed shipped status on that Sunday.. got email this monday morn from Verizon with shipped status. FedEx shows in Memphis, but with no option for pick up, and the delayed delivery date of Friday. as Memphis is only little over hour away, hope for fast delivery.
