It was very fast, I was at the checkout page in about 20 seconds..

Yea I was in and out of the app with completed order way less than a minute. I started by selecting upgrade now. It asked if I was trading and I said no. It took me to the list of manufacturers and I selected Apple. iPhone was the very last on the list! I selected it. I selected insurance and then it took me to payments. I selected monthly installments. My credit card pre-populated. It did not ask for the three digits on my credit card nor did it ask for my Verizon account PIN. My address did not pre-populate for shipping and I had to type it in.

This will be my first Verizon phone paying on an installment plan. Can someone explain how Verizon determines if you qualify for monthly payments? Do they run a credit check or is it based off of your history with Verizon and on time payments?

Thanks in advance.

New customer, yes they run your credit. Existing customer they do is based of on time payments and how long you have been with Verizon.

looks like Verizon's app is glitching a bit now. I just quit and reopened the app and saw this:

Trust me, I tried clicking the "Order Now" button, but didn't work. The entire page was unresponsive and I had to quit the app. Haven't seen it since.

So how's everyone planning to pass the time to reach 3AM (ET)? Every year its a challenge for me. I usually spend the last 30 mins reloading Verizon's website.

Not sure but I can tell you for certain there’s no way in hell I’m going to sleep. Too risky lol

Luckily I don’t work til 9 so that still gives me a solid 5 hours after I’m done preordering.

College student, central time zone (2:01 release). I have a midterm tomorrow that I'll be done studying for by midnight. Netflix until 12:45. Gonna get second dinner, be back in my room by 1:30. Refreshing these forums/Apple Store app/Verizon store from 1:35-2:05 until I can hopefully get an order in.

If I weren't in college, I'd probably just sleep and set an alarm.

has anyone get clarification from verizon on trade-in credits?

Last year, I traded my ip 6+ for the ip 7+ and received the $650 trade in deal with verizon. If I trade in my 7+ for the x, will those credits continue for the remainder of the 2 years or do I lose them?

If I can't keep the credits, might be too expensive for me to trade in.

Thanks

I was just able to submit a successful pre order on the app! Submitted at 2:19 EST. Got email receipt at 2:20. I just tried for the hell of it and it went thru!!
Did it show the X All of a sudden? Because there's no way to select it right now. It's not in the list of phones

it's at the very bottom.
Ah thank you sir.

On Twitter Verizon stated the X will be front and center when pre-order goes live. Assuming on the front page. As a backup, is there a shortcut to get to the X in the list of phones?

I'm going through the app to upgrade and wanted to test it out. Everything works fine, but it's asking me to put a credit card in with a matching zip code to the account zip. I'm not the account holder, though I am a manager on it. Why do I have to use the account holder's credit card even though I'm not paying for the phone up front? Doesn't make sense to me. Talked to support and they told me that's just how it is.

Same here. I think people will need to pay off their device in full ahead of time in order to purchase from Apple.

Correct. No way for Apple's system to know that you're sending the phone back in. You can either pay it off 100% through Verizon or you have to upgrade through Verizon.

You will lose the credits.

You will lose them. The deal you took advantage of last year required you to keep the phone for the full 24 months.
