The Wait for New MacBook Pros Continues, More Best Buy SKUs Found

I work at a major university, and I just received a flyer from our campus computer store announcing a tax-free sale on Apple notebooks from March 15 through the 21st. It amounts to a 9.75% savings on top of the already discounted education prices. To me this is a sign that new Apple notebooks are imminent.....

If university computer stores had any advance notice of new Apple product releases it would be all over the net. They don't. Either your university store has its own reasons for clearing inventory, or it is guessing on a new release the same as all of us.

Fyi..... Cal Poly Pomona's bookstore which has a special apple store with in it has dropped the price of it's 13 and 15" MacBooks pros up to $300 in a "blow out sale"........ We can cross our fingers ;)

Holy crap that's nice. If my school did that I'd pick up a 15 incher today!

Now we're talking the kind of pricebreak that would get a bunch of us off Apple's back. Most of us would love to see either a new MBP or a price break that made buying an "older" technology MBP more attractive.

This is really insignificant. My university has a tax-free Apple Sale every year - It's simply a marketing tactic in the same way that they advertise tax-free textbook sales... I wouldn't correlate it to an imminent update of MBP.

Although I am hoping for an update ASAP, hopefullly 3/16 people get overly excited when the product lifecycle comes to an end... things that have no correlation to a release at all are suddenly signs of updates.

Im taking it with a gain of salt so you take it how you will... been disappointed too much these last few months to get overly excited but we can hope.
