From 91% to 76% between last night, around 22:20 and now, 7:55. 15% over nine and a bit hours.

Series 8.

Adding:

Now almost 14:30 - so six and a half hours - and dropped to 60%.

Yep this is definitely an issue for me as well. Went to sleep with it on 100%, 8 hours later and it was down to 82%. Before it only used 8 or 9%

WatchOS 10 has completely ruined the battery life on my S4 watch.

Yesterday:
01:01 - 100%
18:00 - 9%

Today:
02:28 - 100%
09:00 - 5%

Never had such issues with previous OS updates.

Mine is still losing 10-12% per hour on watchOS 10.0.1, so for me the update hasn't improved anything in relation to the battery life problem.

There seems to be a clear divide between people having battery life that is about what is expected, and those having atrocious battery life indicative of a bug. This is not the usual temporary post-update "reindexing and so on" battery life hit everyone is used to having.

It's terrible... I have an S7 with LTE and I'm loosing like 20% in 2.5 hours... Never had an issue before. I allready unpaired and restored the watch from backup - but it dind't change anything. It is so ****ing annoying...

No, it's not just "reindexing".
Since watchOS10, my S5 has been reinstalled from backup, then from scratch, nothing improves.
The issue is maybe on iOS17 side ?
Hard to answer.
That's an interessting point. Maybe I should also restore my iPhone?! Hmm... Or I could power off my phone and see what changes...

I just switched my watch faces - because I've been using the new solar analog watch faces since release. Maybe it's an issue on the watch face side? What are you using?

My experience wasn't too bad the day after I updated to 10.0.0, but I did notice some increase in drain as I'd go from 100% to <90% in the first ~3 hours of a non workout day, which seemed more than I remembered with OS 9 (but I'd still get through the day). Last night I updated to 10.0.1. I now have 97% battery after 3 hours off the charger. Whether it is the 10.0.0.1 update or another factor (perhaps just having another reboot) it bodes well. (AW7 45 88% battery health).

I have the new "palette" watch face.
But I think it's not related, I have tried various watch faces with the same result

Do you have assistive touch enabled or are you using the "quick actions"?

(You can find the settings in the Settings app on your Apple Watch, then go to Accessibility > Quick Actions)

EDIT: I just disabled the quick actions but it seems the battery is still draining...

11:00 a.m.--> 73%

11:08 a.m.--> 71% (disabled Quick actions)

11:16 a.m. --> 71%

11:24 a.m. --> 70%

11:38 a.m. --> 69%

12:09 p.m.--> 66%

12:24 p.m. --> 64%

And I did nothing with the watch. Just checked the battery at the stated time...

Definitely worse battery on my Ultra. Charged to 100% 6PM last night, bedtime mode at 8:45 (no screen on time), now 5AM this morning it is at 78%. Battery health is 99%.

I installed the watchOS 10 RC last week and apparently it's the same as the final version. I own an AppleWatch Series 5 and so far I was perfectly happy with it, after a full day at the office I easily had 25%ish left of battery life. I would say it lasted up to 16hrs.

But now, with watchOS 10 my battery life is down to less than 12hrs. What is your exeprience? I hoped that they would fix it with the final release, but they haven't.
Exactly the same case.
Watch 5, ending the day with 15-25% (depending on whether I tracked exercise that day).
Yesterday, no exercise tracked and run out of battery at 6pm...

i have an apple watch SE, and before installing Watch OS10, my battery life would last from 6am to 11pm, at 11pm my battery would be at 80% now by 3:00pm its at 10% and i get the low battery notification.

You had 3 1/2 day battery life on your SE pre-update?

Series 4 watchOS 10.0, battery draining around 6-7% per hour.
Had battery indicator error too yesterday, suddenly my battery "dropped" from ~80% to 10% but stays there for 9 hours before it started dropping again to 9% (around 6-7% battery consumption per hour)

This is so badddddd....
This is exactly how my watch was responding to WatchOS 10 yesterday. The watch pushed itself into a forced reboot and then dropped from 80% to 10% and stayed there for hours.

It's a bit better for me with 10.0.1, but still not acceptable. Startet with 100% at 6:30 am and now ab 5 pm I have 20% left. That's an improvement, but still I'm well under 12h of battery life.

Same watch same issue. 100% at 6 am and getting the low warning at about 4pm since installing watchOS 10.

Had my normal morning with walk and easy exercise which before used 10%, today at the same point in time battery was 80%, so usage doubled. Using S7, S9 arriving today and hoping it's a lot better!!!

Same watch, same behavior. Although my battery life wasn't that impressive on Watch OS 9 but my SE definitely drains faster.

I think it could also be due to the fact that their is no full dark or black anymore. The control center used to be completely black (no border visible to the bezzle), the stopwatch used to be black - which is now white (?) - and my watchface (Infograph Modular) which, btw. has been renamed to Modular, also seems to be a shade lighter. This makes the oled display way less efficient

Ok I thought it was just me. I have a S5 and the battery health is at an abysmal 88%. I could always get away with not charging through the day, but now since I've installed Watch OS 10. Will not upgrade right now though. It's not worth it.

Pretty bad experience so far. Watch died around 6pm. And I used to go to bed around 11pm and it was kicking and alive. I’m going to give it a couple more days to see if it was a wrinkle or something more.

One possible culprit: unlocking the Mac with your watch. Are you guys sitting long hours next to your Mac? Are you unlocking with watch. Unlock wasnt working for me after the watch update; had to disable/enable on Mac side.

Also noticed my Bluetooth mouse is more jittery/erratic. As if there’s a lot of Bluetooth transmission going around.

If watch dies early today too, I’ll disable the Mac unlock with watch feature tomorrow and see what happens.

Watch 10.0.1 update now drains my full Ultra battery over night. Does anyone else have a battery drain problem with the latest update. 10.0 was fine then the update on 09/21 to 10.0.1. I have charged it twice today already.
