Does anyone know if I can install Leopard onto it's own partition and keep Tiger? That might be the wise choice for now as I hear the Adobe products are a little buggy still. Anyway, I can't wait to get this up and running!

Yes you can install Leopard onto its own partition. I have Tiger, Leopard, Win XP and Vista on my MBP. Now I just want Ubuntu also...

Damn, I want a computer for Christmas. It would sure beat the 450 hours that I spent doing yard work in the 90+ degree weather this summer to get money for my mac. Oh well, I did manage to convert the guy that hired me to Mac.

As for my 'mactastic' gift, I got Apple's international power adapter kit. It will help a lot saying that I have to travel overseas every weekend for work...

I have some cash I can use to maybe buy some mactastic surprises for myself :)
Don't surprise yourself too much, now!

We gave and received: goats for needy families in 3rd world countries, trees for reforestation, and clothes & food for the needy in local communities.

In my family we're pretty successful and don't need to spend money on each other for things we could buy ourselves if we want, so we all agreed to collectively take all our Christmas money and donate it to charities of our choice.

Christmas is so bogus. Its meaning and spirit is completely lost to personal and corporate greed.

I got money, gas cards, itunes cards, some other gift cards, a 16GB iPod Touch, a new XM Radio, and a month ago I got my MBP as a birthday/christmas/graduation present.

Chiodos - Bone Palace Ballet CD

Chiodos is awesome!

Okay, Santa finally came (better late than never) and here's my loot.

-$25 iTunes gift card
-$15 iTunes gift card
-Logitec Game Pad
-Logitec headset (amazing audio quality, I'm using right now to listen to music)
-I Am America (And So Can You) by Stephen Colbert
-A 22" widescreen monitor for my new desk
-$25 GameStop gift card
-$20 Wii Points Card
-Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess (I already got this last year for Christmas, LOL. So I'm exchanging it for another game tomorrow.)
-Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix widescreen DVD
-Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix Soundtrack CD (LOL, I got my last CD last Christmas :) )

All in all, a very lucrative Christmas.

I remain more mystified than ever how some people get such a massive amount of stuff each Christmas. I've got a birthday on top of Christmas and I never come remotely close to the hauls I see posted every year. That's not in any way a complaint, because there's nothing to complain about. I've never found myself wanting more. I'm just genuinely baffled. Is it just large families? :p

As for me, I got HK Soundsticks. Smaller stuff was Big Love Season 2, $40 for Amazon and for iTunes, $25 for the Village Inn, the Joshua Tree remastered 2 CD set, and a couple smaller DVDs (actually, I know I'm getting The Wire season 4 from someone who can't be here now, so I should include that). And that's for Christmas and a birthday. Very pleased about the Soundsticks and Amazon/iTunes money. I narrowed down the wish list a lot this time around and that worked out well.

My official list:

17" Core 2 Duo iMac
History of Mustang book
Muscle Car History book
some very comfortable sweatpants
pack of 50 CD-R's
Armor-All Kit (for my car)

I'm pretty sure i'm forgetting something, but anyway I was very blessed this Christmas! Hope everybody's went great! :)

For Christmas I got a 2.2 White Macbook, Microsoft Office, Applecare and a case for it. But I got it all last month (Black Friday sales are the best!) so I had no Apple goodies to open today.

Also got some clothes, gift cards, LOST jigsaw puzzle, and 100 bucks (which I will save for an iPod touch...hopefully.)

i finally got my new lexus ive been wanting for a while. inside my car there was a macbook pro and some new seven jeans. theres some stuff i havent opened yet b/c ive been on this laptop now...love it!

WOW!!!! That trumps most of the gifts here.

Lovin' your username "Angels & Airwaves"

Angels & Airwaves FTW!!!

I'm listening to Everything's Magic right now.:D

Nah, it's just the most expensive gift here. Part of my haul was a $2 fly-swatter gun (it actually shoots a circular fly swatter at an incredible speed to kill the fly) - I reckon it's just as cool as a Lexus filled with gear.

I mean, good on the guy getting the exxy swag but it doesn't make it better than anyone else's gifts.

<snip>

Whew. That was a long-ass list.
And then... I saw some more extended fambly, which resulted in even more loot.

  • A $50 Apple GC. (Guess my older cousin got a really nice bonus this year; he's in his 30s, married, 2 kids now.)
  • A MINI wall calendar.
  • A tin of Illy espresso beans (too bad I don't have a grinder and no espresso machine).
  • $30 cash.

I feel incredibly blessed materialistically. But I had a helluva fun time tonight. Playing with the baby, the preschooler, the older cousins... It's hard to beat great food and kind folks.
