2007 8 core 3.0ghz, 4GB Ram, Radeon X1900XT, various drives...

Used for: Design work in CS3, Leopard and Vista 64. Photoshop and Flash mostly.
Editing and storing digital photos including image processing astrophotos.
Video editing in final cut express and aftereffects. (working with uncompressed 1080p video captured from HD camera).
Hoping to put maya on this machine soon (currently runs on PC).
Doing various batch file conversions.

I used it mainly for my developing purposes, virtualization through Parallels, and Gaming on Windows. And then as a normal computer (email/web/iTunes/photo/video etc.)

I think it's the best machine in the world and will continue to stay on Mac in future

I have the 1st gen dual dual core 2.66ghz with 16gb ram (from transintl) and 4 x 1tb drives and twin 30" monitors and the crappy 1900XT card.

I'm a pro photog. Mostly use aperture and CS3.

Really peeved I can't swap the ram into a new 8 core model or going the other way put a better video card in my current box.

Early 2008 2.8GHz Octo 16GB RAM 4x750GB HDs with RAID card (running RAID5) 8800GT.

I mainly use mine to run a numerical weather prediction model. I also heavily post-process the data whether it be number crunching or graphics. I also do a bit of programming. Also the general mail, music, pictures, video, etc..

Use it for my ridiculously large iPhoto library (way slow on my 1.6 G5), games, video.

Fusion w/XP Pro. Using some mapping software & some games.
