two things...

1) The crap-tastic screens they put into 12" PowerBook G3 Wallstreet. What the hell were they thinking? They had active matrix screens in previous and even the slightly higher level PowerBooks. For them to slap a pro label on those machines was a crime. The bezel looked like **** too.

I agree... I had two of them in the past and was VERY disappointed... the Powerbook 180c ( 5 years older!) had a better LCD!!!!

Also I don't like:

1. iMac g3 puck mouse
2. Any performas... terrible video resolution, horrible speed, yuck!
3. Powermac 6100.... weird video connector, slow, and only 2 ram slots~!

Eh, the 6200s weren't so bad...But we sprung for a 6300, instead. I liked my 6300 and 6320 just fine, thank you very much, and as I've said in another thread--they both still run like a charm.
The 6360 was a nice machine, I'll give you that, but the 6200s were the old-style Apple attempting and failing to build down to a budget. Too many issues to be worthwhile. I actually stuck with my 630CD rather than upgrade, and even that was a hobbled design :D

Mind you, back in those days you could actually upgrade Macs by swapping out the logic boards. Can't do that anymore.

The worst mac would have to be first gen macbooks... countless issues.

They did have many issues, but they were basically all cleared up by firmware updates (and in relatively short order), and my core duo macbook is problem-free and going strong at 18 months old.

But, in all sincerity, I would have to say that the Apple III was the worst Apple product ever to be released, followed at a close second by Mac OS 10.0.x and then 10.5.x.

10.0 yes... 10.5? Um... I hope that's a joke.

Tisn't. Well, IMHO, 10.5 sucks major Ball mer

I'm not too fond of the current MacBook. With the last update they done away with the matte screen and if you install Windows with Boot Camp formatted in the Fat32 file system, it isn't displayed on the boot screen. Then if you use a different format you can't write to the partition from OS X. It just seems the last update done a wee bit more harm than good.

I am the only one who liked that mouse?

I liked the hockey puck mouse...people who rag on the hockey puck mouse obviously have never tried using any one of the hundreds of craptastic little "laptop" mice floating around these days...they are much worse.

As for the worst Mac ever: some of the crippled LCs were pretty lame, and the Color Classic was unnecessarily crippled, but nothing compares to the badness of the Performa 5200 and its bretheren. Anybody who claims that a Mac made after the 5200 series is the worst has clearly never used a 5200.

The Mac TV was heavily flawed but a brilliant idea, so I can't hate on it too much. I'd love to have one.

I think that the whole PowerMac G3/G4 line (with the exception of rev.A Beige units and perhaps the Yikes!) were solid machines.

And I love the Cube. Love it.:)

I had an LC and a performa 5200.
I loved both machines and never had a problem with them so I don't see what was wrong with the 5200 series. Compared to the LC it was a lot faster and it fitted my needs. Once in a while my kids still play some old games on it.

6300.gif

That was our first Mac. It was the family computer - god we hated it. After that, we switched to Windows. Now we're all Mac.:D

What model is that? I like it's look.

Don't be dissin' the Cube.
Why not. :p

The worst Mac ever is always, let me repeat, always,

the upgrade that comes out right after you buy yours.
LOL.

Reminds me of the old saying of what is the best car. Paid for.

One of the worst Macs that I owned, which was also one of my favorites, was the 840av. Loved the computer. Hated to open it up. Many times I had bloody knuckles after adding RAM or changing out the HD. Tears almost came to my eyes when Apple made the G3, and especially the G4 PowerMacs so easy to open up. A far cry form the 840av type cases.

Why not. :p

.

Don't you eva get on my level! :D Seriously though, a lot of 'Net sites are dissin' the Cube now. What happened to acceptance of its stunning beauty? Don't care though, I'm doing yard work for a friend of my mom's over spring break and he's going to give me a Cube with a Sonnet 1.6GHz dual processor upgrade and 1.5GB RAM!!!:eek::eek:

People complain about the looks of beige G3´s? They basically used the same casing as the 7x00s and 9600. How about turning your heads to the PowerMac 4400? Now that was plain ugly. And slow.

IMO, the worst looking Macs ever must be the LC 5xx and G3 all-in-one. And perhaps the iMac Blue Dalmatian and Flower Power.

Apple went through this stage of putting loads of different models into that form factor, and releasing them all at the same time . It could be a Quadra-, Performa- or LC-630 (same machine, different branding ), or any of the 6200 or 6300 series. Some, like the later 6300 series were okay, but most were pants :p
