No desire to camp out, but if memory serves me correctly, Apple stores receive IP stock at various times on and after launch date. There is a website that provides accurate data on inventory levels for each store. Hopefully it will be up and running by Friday.

Something like istocknow.com.
[doublepost=1509496395][/doublepost]How many of these campers do you think are the miles getting paid to get the phones and give them to a single person for black market sales?

Both.

In the case of Apple site (or App): go through the process of ordering a device, and you can see which local Apple Stores have inventory for you configuration (currently, Apple Store app is not showing any local inventory, only delivery 5-6 weeks out).

On and after launch day, Did the Apple store app allow the option of in store pick up on IP7 and IP6S? Definitely yes for IP6 but not sure about more recent models. Great if it is available this weekend because it provides real time inventory data and allows purchaser to lock it up.

Apple has let you check the night before for in-store availability after the most recent launches immediately, or pretty soon after, launches.

I’ll never get this I’ve been an iPhone fan since it’s launch and tech fan as long as I can remember. Not staying in line that long.

Maybe they have COMP time? I have about five days stacked, but to use them on an iPhone release would not be ideal for me.
But how much money does your comp time represent? You may has well spend $2K for a phone on eBay and it would still be less than using 3 days of vacation time plus the cost of the phone.

The reviews are in and it's CONFIRMED that the X is by far the best phone you can buy. If you haven't pre-ordered for launch, it's definitely worth spending a few days in line to get one.

Lol, the Apple Store I just went to tonight had 3 people in it... Turns out Halloween is a great night for shopping.

Also scored two iPhone X leather cases when one of the employees said they could sell them and others argued that they couldn't. Apparently the one that said they could sell them was more in charge than the others. The girl that sold them to me said their manager said "No," earlier and that I was lucky to get them. I agreed and got out of dodge...
