Solution

In iFile, I created a link of the Themes folder to the Library folder.

/private/var/stash/Themes.Yam41b/

So file:///Library/Themes.Yam41b/:D.... now works.

WTF?

I am not a newbie.
I have read the instructions.

iPhone 3GS ios 4.0
My Yahoo Weather WOID is 9824 and works.
Yahoo Weather is checked in config screen.
Time Display 24
Wallpaper set 24hr
StyleSheet is SlantedLock.

My Safari database was deleted.

The url in Safari file:///Library/Themes.... does not work.

This url does:
file://private/var/stash/Themes.Yam41b/SlantedLock.theme/config.html

After saving it says:
file://private
Settings saved!

Respring, JUST BLACK.

WTF

Who has an outside the box brain to lend a hand????

I'm not sure how the paths differ in the 3GS, but I had assumed that any jailbroken iPhone would have the Themes folder mapped in the Library folder. It seems to be the case even on the iPod Touch 1G as someone reported success on MacThemes forums. Regardless, I'm glad it's working for you.

I download the theme here, but I can't see any option in "config" file.
I opened it with both safari and IE on a PC running XP. There is only the main title and the last "set config" button, but no other setting options.

And of course, I can't see the options in mobile safari.

The previous 1.5.2 version has no problem.

What should I do?

Um, I'm sorry, I feel like an idiot, but I cannot find how to pm you. I click on your name and get two drop-down options - see all your posts, or see your profile. Nowhere is there an option to pm you. Sorry for my dumbness! Haven't been on boards like these for many years now (used to be, many years ago ... and before that used to be usenet back in the day, believe it or not).

So how do I pm you? What am I not seeing?

I tried to upload them here but could not....(too large)

I can email them to you and try to help you set it up like mine if you need help.

PM me here with your email address....and Ill try to help you with wallpaper images ect.

Is it because my safari or iphone does not support HTML 5?

Not sure. I can't think of what you are missing. The requirement to run this theme was already available since iOS 2.0. From what you described, the configuration file is unable to read the database and generate the configuration menu.

Have you tried removing the theme and installing it through Cydia?

Maybe I find the issue.

As u said "the configuration file is unable to read the database and generate the configuration menu".

When I deleted the old safari cache database and installed the new version, there was no new database created in safari cache.

Maybe that's why the configuration file can't find the database.

Later I deleted the 1.5.4 and reinstalled the older 1.5.2 version, there is still no database created. But the 1.5.2 version can work just fine.

So how can I get back the database?

hi

first of all, great theme.
but i have a little problem. i installed the theme (v1.5.2) via winscp, everything like concerning weather is working fine for me. but i have the problem on iphone 4 that it takes the lockscreen roundabout 1 sec to update the correct time after pressing the homebutton. i installed the same package on an iphone 3g and there is no delay in updating. can anyone help?

best regards from germany.

When I type in the file for safari to configure the slanted lock the url does not show the options to configure on one of my iphone 4's. one is able to configure but the other will not show it on the URL it just shows:

I have followed the instructions for set up but cannot configure on my hubbys phone.

Ok got to where I type in file:///var/stash/Themes.xxxxx/SlantedLock.theme/config.html into safari and it states No file exist?? I do have my unique # in the xxxxxx slot? Do I have to D/L this theme first---or is typing this URL into safari actually going to do this when i get it right ..lol thanks for the help

what is the unique code and where do we get that?

The configuration screen is also the installation file. When you launch the configuration screen, it automatically creates the database for you. If you are seeing that screen, that means the database was not created successfully or that it is corrupted.(or for whatever reason, it cannot be used.)

To "reinstall" the theme, delete the database in Safari's settings then proceed to launch the configuration menu again.

selfquote is sexy.

by the way. the problem also occurs with version 1.5.4. so i suggest its a regular issue.

Interesting that it doesn't happen on the 3GS. I have a 4 and this is the first lock screen change I've done, so I've simply assumed this was just the way it was for everyone. I'd love to see it fixed if it can be, but it's not a showstopper.

Unfortunately, I don't have the answer to this... It doesn't bother me so I didn't look any further, but I suspect it's not something I can quickly fix.

On another note, I added a set of 24 Halloween wallpapers download to the first post so we can all get in the Halloween spirit!!!

MISC UPDATE:
I'm pumped for Halloween seeing that this is October 1st! I created a set of 24 Halloween themed wallpapers for use with SlantedLock so I can enjoy get even MORE into the Halloween spirit! Thought I'd share with you guys. ;)

- Extract the folder "Halloween" and SSH it into the theme's images folder.(Private/images)
- In Configuration menu, under Wallpaper Set, select the last radio circle. Then type in "Halloween" into the empty field next to the radio circle.(without quotes. Capital H)

Enjoy!

>> Download 24 Halloween wallpapers <<

I installed this in my SlantLock theme and I LOVE IT!!!

It changes backgrounds every hour!

THANKS CLAUDE FOR SHARING!!!

See Claudes post which is the very first post in this thread.

It is very easy to do!

Lot of really cool pics

You'll love them!

I need a little lesson in this field of SSH and how to extract the folder????

I think I finally found what has always been something I felt a bit lacking to my SlantedLock design. The numbers seem a bit... flat and missing something.

I think a little bit of outline stroke makes all the difference. See the screen shot and compare it to the ones in the first post. The time and date are much more pronounced.

Here's how to get the strokes. In your CSS file:
- Add "-webkit-text-stroke:1px #666666;" (without quotes) to: div#hourbox, div#minutebox, div#secondsbox, div#ampmbox, div#datebox
- Add "-webkit-text-stroke:1px #034f6d;" to: div#monthbox

Use #000 instead of #666666 if you want a black outline.

Easy peasy, huh?

Can I haz?

First off I want to congratulate you in the excelent work you've done with this theme. For the first time my iPhone feels actually mine.

I wanted to ask you if there is any way for us to change the js code that updates the seconds into one that would make the dots between the hour and minutes blink.

I currently have the seconds and the a.m.-p.m. text set to white on white (why would it write a.m.-p-m- in 24 hours format anyway?) so I figured it was a waste of processing if they can't be seen and could just get rid of them or even change them to what I wanted, but since you've packed the code I'm fearing I could screw it up.

Any help would be appreciated and, In the event that you don't feel like releasing the code, I would like to ask you to consider making a version of the theme with blinking dots instead of how it is right now.

I, off course, would understand if you didn't want to release the code or even change it, but i figured i wouldnt loose anything asking you since you seem to like making your users happy =]

keep up with the good work!

If you are worried about wasting processing power, it's not really significant enough to worry about. Time calculation happens regardless. It's only wasting 1 operation by writing the updated second. The AM/PM doesn't get updated every second. ;) This is one of my many optimizations. It only gets calculated and updated when the thing needs changing.

However, having said that I like your blinking dot idea. I'll put that on a feature list here... not sure when the next revision will be though. lol
