Same here - Could this be because I dowloaded SlantedLock via Cydia as opposed to the OPs link and am trying to alter it via iFile? Perhaps I/we need to download from this thread, then alter w/ iFile (there is no ".config" file in the version I downloaded - not sure it that means anything). I'm really just trying to get to settings via Safari so I can change the wather location and get the visible lock slider back.
As of this posting, it seems the package in Cydia is still getting updated--not fully. I noticed that my description and change history has been updated, but not the version number nor the download tracking. I would wait for it to fully SAY version 1.5 before downloading. Otherwise, you may end up downloading version 1.0.1, which is ENTIRELY different than what is offered in this thread. This thread has the latest version in the first post.
brilliant work claude
instructions were spot on, even for sumone like me who isnt too good
with all this lol
Thanks!
Here's another question. I changed my wallpaper after activating the Cydia-sourced version of this lockscreen. I selected "change both" when I was asked if I wanted the home AND lockscreen changed. The home screen changed instantly, but the LS did not.
I assumed that I still had some tinkering to do via file:/// in Safari since I still can't get in there for some reason. Then, oddly enough, about 30 mins after selecting that change (and withour respringing in the meantime) the LS background changed to my selected background all of the sudden. Any input as to what would cause this?
Should I uninstall the Cydia-sourced LS and re-install using the link in this thread to get to the theme files via Safari to cut down on these issues?
I always have to respring to change the lock screen wallpaper with this theme
To update wallpaper, you must respring. It is how it is. :/ It's either this or SSH wallpaper into the theme folder. I think setting it in Settings and then respring is a much easier process.
Claude:
Are you aware of any weathericon sets that are retina-ready? This lockscreen is beautiful, but the HTC icons look very dull/blurry compared to everything else.
Good work, mate!
I'm not sure. However, a thought just came to mind for this. When you want to use a different icon set, you can easily just replace all the icons into one of the existing icon folders that you don't want. I know it won't be NAMED correctly, but at least it will work until my next update.(if there is more lol) So lets say you don't like Klear, you can just take all of Tango's icons, and put it into the Klear folder. Set Klear in config and it just works. Make sure it's NAMED the same and uses the same file extension.(.png)
Really enjoying SlantedLock, Claude. Though I'd like forcasting it'd be weird to make it fit right.
But what I'd love is a tap to refresh. Because the auto-refresh I've noticed doesn't happen very often throughout the day, unless that's easily changeable.
I don't believe these type of web-based themes can be "interactive" where you can do things with it. What you are talking about are Cydget themes or themes applied by another plugin that runs natively. SlantedLock is a web-based theme. EDIT: At the time of this original post, I had no idea... but this IS possible.
The auto-refresh works.

That's the whole point of this release. The script is concious of update time and will attempt to fetch new data. If it doesn't have internet to fetch new data, it will check again at the next interval. You can set the interval from 1 minute to 30 minutes. The default interval time is 15 minutes. If you set it to 1 minute, and sit there and watch it, at the 1 minute mark, you *should* see the weather icon and weather texts flicker. That's because it's re-writing new content to the weather.
