Why it’s such a problem to not have W on Mac laptop?
The only reason I install parallel for Linux and windows was for school back then.
It was working great.

What are the possible scenarios to need the full power of your computer (with windows), maybe gaming?
Software dev?

I hope Windows 11 support Apple Silicon Mac cause they made some kind of Rosetta 2 system and they are quite willing to support ARM architecture on Windows.

I really struggle to understand why on earth anyone would put Windows on a MacBook.

  1. Perhaps you want to use your Mac for pleasure but want to also use it for work (and work uses Window). Although simply running O365 using a browser pretty much eliminates having to run two OS's.
  2. Perhaps there's some apps that only run on one OS, but not the other - issue solved when you can run two OS's.
  3. Perhaps it's just cool and everything runs smoothly.
  4. I struggle to understand such a shallow comment with little thought that others may have unique needs/wants.
My experience.

Well, it's not a secret anymore...
It never was. Microsoft said it was, and would stay, exclusive with Qualcomm with the Windows Phone.

If Nvidia buys ARM it could get worse for Windows ARM on a Mac.

APPLE should have bought ARM.

Still think they should have bought Adobe. fine tuned the software and made some programs Mac only.
You think Apple should have bought ARM and Adobe? Why stop there.. why not buy Toyota? And Walmart? And VISA? And Pepsico? Perhaps Bank of America? Maybe they should buy out your property too and put you on a subscription model and charge the regular Apple-tax rate? Cuz you know, all hail the magnificent Apple!

Each SoC has their own subtleties which requires the vendor to write their own OS drivers. You see this with any ARM based SoC that Linux drivers come from the vendor. Apple would need to write those drivers themselves for WoA and not Microsoft.

Oh, I agree fully. It’s just that I don’t see Apple doing it - at all. They don’t even want to write a Vulkan driver for macOS. How does one imagine them maintaining the full GPU driver stack for Windows (DX11/12, Vulkan, OpenGL)? Besides, having drivers is not enough to run WoA on Apple Silicon. It would require extensive patches on kernel level since it uses custom interrupt protocols etc.

So far, Windows on ARM has been a failure. Microsoft already abandoned it once in the past. Unless something changes, they may do it again. There is simply no demand for it.

nope
might be a reason, but its not the reason
MS has become data collection company lately, and worst than google on it. why do you think win11 doesnt work without a MS account? they don't want you to use some apps as secondary OS on a mac. now money made that way. they want you to use this as your primary OS, collect data, sell ads and so on.

You don't need a MS account to use Windows. They nudge you towards it, but you don't have to.

Not exactly on topic, but maybe something to consider…

I run a M1 Max Mac now but had to use one(!) Windows program I can’t replace currently. I used to run Win10 with VMware fusion before.

Instead of fiddling with a preview ARM Windows, I simply got an inexpensive mini Intel box running Windows 11 Pro. Just 230 EUR (should be the same in $). With a “headless” setup I can access it from my Mac using MS Remote Desktop. That’s working great and I do not need to buy Fusion updates any more.
