My mistake, I was under the impression you abandoned your jailbreak. However, Of course the general public will take what's given to them, what are the options do they have besides stock iOS? Not everybody jailbreaks. (And Nor am I against jailbreaking).

My point is , you don't speak for the millions of iPhone users that enjoy iOS 10 and not everybody shares your faults with what you find inconvenient or lack there of in iOS 10.

In Comparison, you literally upgraded to versions of iOS later and all you can find are negatives. That doesn't put you in the majority of others users experiences. Nor does it allow to you shoehorn comments that you know what's best in terms of iOS for everyone. That not how it works.

Again, ignorance is bliss. If I pointed all of these flaws out to the general public and showed them how much faster and more efficient it could be they would certainly share my disappointment. Some things are subjective, measurable and discernible efficiency is not one of them.

Yes, I am. I don't know how to write code obviously but I could damn sure come up w a better and more efficient process.

Um, yeah, based on the posts I've seen you make, there is no way you can make that statement. You stated you don't know how to write code. You also don't seem to know how to use devices or figure out what features are available on them. That's kind of a requirement and I'm mainly basing this on your "watch" thread.

Writing code is a complex process. There are several processes out there that companies buy in to and adopt. They often change which one they choose to use too which just keeps adding to the excitement. How about googling it and educating yourself before making such naive statements.

To get code out the door there are often many developers working on sections that a separate team puts together and another team tests before hitting Beta. With all the testing in the world the developing team will be lucky to catch 30% of the bugs. It's the management of those bug remediations and last minute feature adds that the development processes attempt to address.

No offense but the only thing you could dame sure do is screw it up to the point where a real developer would have to start over.

Aw is somebody offended? I'm obviously not talking about the coding process. I'm quite clearly referring to design and implementation. I can promise you there are about 50 things off the bat that I could improve in iOS. That's fact. Now are there things I love about iOS? Absolutely, otherwise I wouldn't use it. It is visually appealing and the animations are smooth. Many things are very intuitive. This makes the shortcomings even more frustrating, to do so well in one area and then drop the ball in another.

It is all coding. I cannot code and I criticize a lot. But I do not claim I can do it better when I clearly cannot.

You are absolutely correct. I shared a similar opinion with the Messages app in iOS 10 (as well as other complaints) and even switched to a Google Pixel for about 4-5 months. I experienced the Android problems first hand and I'm happy to be back to an iPhone/iOS.

The grass is always greener...

Exactly. This summarizes it for me too. I went to the Google Pixel for one day then returned it. Yes yes yes... I know, not 100% fair but ... it was enough for me. lol.

I like iMessages and do not experience the delays that some people complain about. But my work, friends, and family use Telegram so I'm stuck in that all the time.

Grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side. I'm going to be an Apple customer for a long time. I'm too old to constantly hop around for the latest greatest "fad" and I'm old enough now to recognize my desire to try new things just because they're new.

My point is , you don't speak for the millions of iPhone users that enjoy iOS 10 and not everybody shares your faults with what you find inconvenient or lack there of in iOS 10.

I've got screenshots from my previous iPhones on my Google Photos library and .... without a doubt I think iOS 10 is far better than 8. It's easy to say the past was better because you were comfortable and used to it.

@ OP - Just my opinion. I'm happy you have yours because if everyone had my view, this world would be boring as ****. :p

You're correct. Ignorance is bliss. Speaking of which, since you're so confident in your broad stroked assertions. Please list "50 things" that you can better iOS what you consider to be fact.

Again, it's still the least lousy software. It's just pathetic how many flaws it has given Apple's immense resources, wealth, power and experience. It should be nearly flawless.

Have you used Android? If you think iOS is buggy then Android must be a beta os. I think iOS is perhaps one of the most stable os out there. Sure it has bugs, but nowhere near the amount Android phones have. Sure some features on iOS aren't implemented that well (i.e. notification drop down) but it's been getting better every year. No os is going to be perfect for anyone, but I think Apple is far from being buggy. If you know of any os that is flawless and 100% bug free let me know. But that os needs to have all the apps I use and has to perfectly sync with all my other devices. Oh and the hardware has to be decent. Are you getting my point here? Apple has hardware and software integration figured out. Not perfect but every year it gets better and better. Just look at iMessage handoff. I don't know what response you were expecting to get on an Apple fan forum.

Are you including the "copy & paste delay" in iOS 10 Messages that I'm not experiencing?

I want to see this list as well.

Or the small text box in messages that nobody else taps on accident :p

Lol yeah exactly

I have no problem w change, it's when the change is INFERIOR and stuff becomes less efficient that I take issue.

Bc unfortunately iOS is still the least lousy operating system.
What phone do you have?

An iPhone 5 going from iOS 8 to 10... of course it will suffer - you have vastly inferior technology compared to the phones ios 10 is designed for.

Again, I welcome positive change that improves on existing designs. When it goes backwards I take issue.

I fully appreciate your take on this topic. There are times when "change" is not for the better. Sometimes this is qualitative and sometimes quantitative (as in certain items lagging/taking longer than a previous version). Those that chide you for pointing this out and even suggesting you switch to another make/OS might just switch themselves to not responding at all. After all, your comments are for those who do feel there are challenges and enjoy a FORUM for discussion.

I've been around the block a few times on the computer side and watched my fav OS disappear (OS/2), leaving me with Windows and Unix/Linux as main stays until Vista came out and I embraced the Mac. While on my journey with Mac, I watched it become so big a company, so commercial that it became as I say 'Just another company' (where it lost its original niche and desire to be something really different by way of quality and oriented towards an 'experience' when used). Similar can be said for the iPhone. It too has taken on many directions and some not for the better and I'll include IOS in that statement as well. I am glad we can have a discussion here that is in a sense a family pow wow with some adults and the rest...

I have a 6S running 10.2, nothing to do with the hardware.

Messages is a very clunky app right now
Yes, why are people so afraid to admit when their precious Apple makes a mistake or even several?

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion and here is mine: I personally haven't noticed much if any lag in messages in iOS 10 (though obviously I'm only one person). I really like the messages app, I feel like they added a bevy of new features without taking away the simplicity of messages if you don't want to use those features.

Mine isn't laggy at all (7 Plus). Also, as much as I love to jailbreak (I can't right now), there is a possibility that something in the jailbreak (tweak, etc.) could be affecting the Messages app in a negative manner. I've had certain aspects of a jailbreak affect individual apps before.

There are two things going on here:

1) People. Yes, the guy is dramatic. But please at least respond to his concern. Which includes admitting that the messages app has become clunky, and less clear/easy to use than it was previously; that's basically a fact. I personally think that the thumbs up and heart additions are fine, because the chat is not what has become cluttered, it's the keyboard. I think putting the "messenger app store" in the keyboard itself was a terrible idea. it's not necessarily harder to use, it's just a whole lot more cluttered then previous.

2) Keep in mind you are jumping an entire OS version. The device is going to slow down quite a bit. Call it what you will; planned obsolescence, slow hardware, lack of RAM, the interface slows down, and you can't make that any faster. Do I think that's compounded by the fact that the messages app now is clunky? Partially, but most of it I do believe is simply the jump from one OS to the next, and you not having the latest phone to see what 100% fluidity looks like on the latest OS. I expect devices to handle the following year's OS without much slow down, after that I expect my experience to suck more and more (sluggishness, longer wait times for animation, choppiness, etc).

Oh, in that case you're SOL. Jail breaking by definition breaks t
he software so anything that was closed that is open and not working well, too bad.

Fortunately, when I jailbreak, everything seems to work together just fine. Of course, I don't throw 200 tweaks in there and hope for the best. :D
