I have a MacBook Pro and I get the same thing. The light does come on to let me know the camera is activated, but I just get the blinking icon.

Yeah, I'm on a Macbook Pro as well and it doesn't work. Oh well.

After this I went to PhotoBooth and noticed all I got was a black screen (but the active light was on). I rebooted and PhotoBooth started working again, so I tried the Security screensaver and it's working now.

Another thing I noticed is putting them in /Library/Screen Savers/ didn't work. I had to put them in /System/Library/Screen Savers/.

Actually it does, but you need to click the "> Other" arrow down at the bottom of the list.

If you want the screen savers to be listed with the rest, you need to place them where you said.

I got both screen savers working. I have a MBP and security works fine with the built in iSight, the thing I can't figure out is when I'm using my MBP closed on my 20" display, the security screensaver turns on the built in iSight and not my external firewire iSight. Any ideas?

The two screen savers are there (retro and security) you just need to install (or rip from DVD) the developer tools.

Once installed copy two files
Retro.qtz and Security.qtz
from:
/Developer/Examples/Quartz Composer/Compositions/Screen Savers/

To:
/Library/Screen Savers/

Enjoy!

When the "Retro" is running, I only get static unlike in the preview when the desktop is overlaid with the static. Any ideas anyone?

And now the camera isn't working again.

Rebooting back into Tiger didn't help. A couple of reboots later and the built-in iSight doesn't even appear in System Profiler so it appears I've got a MBP that's developed a hardware problem.

I can't buy tickets but everything else works in my Movies widget.

Note about buying tickets in the widget, it only works for the theaters that Fandango.com has contracts with. For example: I can buy tickets for Century and CineMark theaters, but not for AMC theaters.

When you click to buy a ticket (for a supported theater), it dumps you back on your desktop, opens Safari, and takes you straight to the Fandango.com ticket ordering page where you can select how many tickets you want and pay.

Appreciate the retro and security screen saver, but what about itunes artwork flying around in a mosaic type of style. I'm pretty sure apple demoed this at WWDC.

You have to install the Developer tools after you install Leopard. Once booted into Leopard insert the DVD and install it from there (not Leopard again).

I'm not sure if it is against the rules or not otherwise I would zip the two files up (really small files) and attach them here.

Edit:
Here are the two files, just place them in /Library/Screen Savers/

http://rapidshare.com/files/65453493/Extra_Screen_Savers.zip.html

(mods, if this is against rules please delete or edit post)

thanks!

I, and i know that I am in the apparent minority, want the 3D dock back for when the dock is on the side of the screen. I switched to being a side-docker, and actually liked the 3D look... but now I can't have it anymore... there is a way (albeit it in Terminal) to switch between 3d and 2d for bottom-dockers.... why am I stuck just one dock?

Want those cool screensavers

Not being a developer, I didn't install any of Leopard's optional extras. But I thought these screensavers sounded nifty.

However, "DeveloperTools.pkg" install fails because the installer tells me the first step "run preinstall script". Thinking this might be somewhere else, I successfully installed "DeveloperToolsCLI.pkg" but don't find any screen savers.

Can anyone help??? TIA!

Looks like there is no HDDVD Support, can't speak to Bluray since I don't have a bluray drive...

That kinda sucks I was really excited about that one.

on second thought this may not have been in beta builds, i just remember it being said.

Apple doesn't even support HDDVD; they're in the BD camp.
