Yep, we have them too. Swipe and enter your PIN. That's the most common way of buying stuff here.

And you've reminded me of another peeve - redundancy. PIN number, LCD display, ATM machine, etc.

redundency or acronyms? :p , i'm always annoyed when the definition of one acronym involves another acronym....

I hate when I am asked the same question over twenty times. It is page 412 dang it!

I hate kids who bully one another.

Lastly I hate low paying teacher jobs!

Spoken like a true teacher! ;)

Here Here!!! I'm with ya! Especially when I write the page number on the board!!!!

knowing that i am going to university, knowing this will cost around £30,000, knowing that because of our current system of governance, i have to pay 40% tax on every pound earnt above £29,000 when i graduate for people who cannot be bothered to work and are guilt free when recieving housing and all other benifits such as satelite TV and broadband for free!

also:

ignorance in general terms
ignorance of windows users (never used a mac but say they are rubbish)
chavs
boy racers
teachers who complain abouot low pay and SHORT (yeah right) holidays
people starting fights or looking for trouble
immigration queues
cashiers at checkouts checking the notes....(i would like to make a certain effort to hold the milk up to the light and check to see if its fake before accepting it)
people on mobile phones who talk louder than neccessary
through no fault of their own, babies who cry during takeoff or landing.

So, I shall add - the general culture of "hey, I'm stupid, look how cool I am". This isn't about people with learning difficulties (have no problem at all with that), but there is this culture in the UK (and maybe elsewhere) that being intelligent, using 'big words', admitting to having read a book once (and enjoying it  ), being keen to learn etc, is seen as lame. It started in primary school, and is there through secondary school, university and even work.

I haven't encountered that culture since leaving high school. At my work (programming department of large company) we recommend books to each other and often stop work for half an hour to have philosophical and/or technical discussions. It's not planned, but someone will say something and everyone will gather around and off we go.

You just have to find a good bunch of people all in one place.

I think you'll find it's more to pay for illegal warmongering than free broadband. Who gets that anyway??

Considering the number of teachers and teachers' partners here, this combination seems rather ironic...

or you're trying to get on I-70 West when you're going North on I-170. :)

Cant say I've ever been that way, although I'm headed to UMSL tomorrow to get my copy of Tiger so I may be going that way, have to mapquest it (Only time I've really driven east of the Frontenac area was going to Illinois over 40, and the furthest north I recall driving is 270 to 70 west)

I forgot something that is perhaps my biggest blood-boiler: political correctness and soft, mutilated speech that is designed for the sole purpose of appeasing oversensitive weenies.

• Political correctness

• Drivers who don't use their headlights in a dark, blinding rainstorm. This makes lane changes and left turns across an oncoming traffic lane a lot of fun.

Other (dis)honorable mentions:

• The "wave" at stadium sporting events. It's annoying and distracting.

• Cellphone users at sporting events trying to establish visual contact with one another from opposite ends of the stadium. For some reason, it's exciting for these people to see other people waving at them from 100 yards away while talking to them at the same time. Lame.

yep

Our neighborhood got together for earth day and cleaned all the streets of trash. Next day I took a walk and there was already booze bottle's thrown back on it.

En route home last night, an (admittedly chav) couple were standing at outside the Tube station munching through a bag of fries. They finished them and, despite a bin being 10 feet away, tossed the bag into the gutter (which we'd watched a guy sweep clean about 5 minutes beforehand). The bloke then finished licking off the fork and tossed that to join the greasy paper bag. Litter bugs are one thing that really irritate me particularly when there are lots of bins around.

So what turns you into a Grumpy Old (Wo)Man?

the thing that pisses me off the most is when there is a car accident and even though it isn't blocking traffic at all, and the cops arent' slowing anyone down, there is always a traffic jam anyways, people just slow down (some ******s even stop) to look at the damage that has been done. now, i'm all for curiosity but sometimes you have to draw the line, i mean....horribly mangled corpses? theres enough of that on tv already

All driving, and NO I DO NOT ROAD RAGE!!, just a little venting on Video games though :)

1. People who don't signal lane changes or turns.

2. People who make right turns into traffic and go directly to the left lane as opposed to staying in the RIGHT lane.

3. The opposite of 2. People who turn left into traffic, and go DIRECTLY into the Right hand lane.

4. People who tailgate ME when I am stuck behind someone ELSE that is going too slow.

5. People who "hang out" in the left lane when they should be driving in the right or Middle lane. The left lane isn't the Fast lane, it is the PASSING lane.

Myself and so many people I know are guilty of it. I've been on an interstate with a speed limit of 70 where the average speed among drivers must've been about 30 because we were looking at a bad accident across the median (SUV flipped over and was pretty much flattened down)

A bucket of water should sort that. Or if you're feeling sneaky, a water pistol, to extinguish 'em sniper style.

Mwahahahahahahaha. :)

People who maintain that they have no prejudices.

This one gets me too. They usually begin a sentence with, "I'm not prejudice against ______, but.........."

Also it really bothers me that my children don't listen to me. :(

when I'm woken up by the phone, anti-Semetism, people who are too lazy to clean up after themselves, and the list can go on forever....
