I feel the MacBook Neo will be obsolete next year when the MacBook Neo two comes out because the MacBook Neo too will have 12 GB of RAM

Or it could be a year and a half for the next refresh. And it could use the next processor but keep the memory at 8gb. Apple could make it the Neo pro and raise the price.

From what I understand, Apple is using A18 Pro's that had a failing GPU core, or CPU core, so it was cheaper to use those A18 Pro's that were failing already. Very common practice in the CPU Industry, Intel does it, AMD does it, everyone does it. Its cheaper to use A19 Pro's with a failing GPU / CPU core than it is to downgrade the 12 GB of memory to 8 GB of memory.

it has been repeatedly reported that the A18 chips in the Neo were made recently, so this theory of binned chips is just yet another conspiracy theory ...

Both can be true. Binning is part of the reality in every chip manufactured on daily basis. But the post above sounds more conspiracy.

sure, but here is one of the posts I mentioned:

Agreed. This whole theory of binning unique to A18Pro is not true. There was binning before and A18 Pro and after. Also RAM has nothing to do with the processor. Apple could keep 8 GB or give 16 GB. The way memory is priced now, it’s hard to imagine them increasing with out bumping the price.

I know it's a crazy idea, but they could also keep the base model with 8GB RAM/256GB storage and offer another version with 16GB RAM/512GB storage.

That is true with the M series chips but not true with the A series chips when it comes to adding more RAM. The A18 Pro only supports a max of 8 GB and the A19 Pro supports a max of 12 GB.

Why are so many of you wasting your time replying to the same member over and over? He is not going to buy a Neo. All he is doing is arguing the same things over and over.

I agree, he isn't worth arguing with. He's like a bad rash, the more you scratch the worse it gets. Ignore it and the rash will go away.
