fair enough, but how are the users will be able to watch videos with ipod touch that are viewable only with wmp (to my knowledge)?

Your joking, right?

Please, tell me you were ...

Adding support for Windows Media Player to any iPod model completely destroys the need for iTunes.

Apple .mpa AAC Protecion Vs Freely available .wma

It will never happen, sorry.

Not for audio, and certainly not for video.

A better iPod Touch

I like what the wizard wrote. All things are possible. Gotta have a camera on it. Work like a PDA. GPS would be fantastic. Apple sales would be incredible. They would surely kick the but of any computer and software maker.

Prices would be incredible as well, along with the size of the device. And by incredible, I'm not saying anything positive.

The Dream Touch

I would like to see the touch get bluetooth (with audio input and dictation software), the aforementioned external speaker and volume controls, the GPS would be cool, and as long as I'm dreaming throw in WiMAX (not going to happen).

I've been waiting to buy one so I can see some updates that have larger capacity and more cost-effective. I don't need one right now, but foresee myself buying one in the future.

I WOULD like to see GPS. But that's almost impossible, right?
A camera would be nice but it's no gonna happen. The iPt apparently is NOT an iPhone without the phone, but something less.

with Bluetooth you could connect to an external gps reciever. That would be great.

Bluetooth....is that too much to ask?
and in a later model, a larger screen, so the whole front is a screen.

I think the comment about the anodized back is a great one, albeit not going to happen as the ipod touch is an 'ipod' so it gets the ipod back (which is bull the ipod touch is soo much more than an ipod). What I think would be really sexy is a black anodized aluminum back, to complement the all-black front and would differentiate from the iPhone. Because really Apple is treating the ipod touch as a bastardized iPhone. There is nothing that the ipod touch will ever be able to do that the iPhone can't do as that would cannibalize the sales of the iPhone (and the fat cell contract kickbacks from the devil...I mean AT&T).

Bluetooth would be very nice, but would further separate the touch from being an ipod, which the rift is already huge. It prolly won't happen cause touch != iPhone.

Camera. Never. Ever. Don't even say it cause its not gonna happen. Ipod touch = ipod, not phone or pocket computer.

The speaker question is an interesting one. I can see why it isn't there for differentiation and for the form factor but I think it looses sales. Many times when I am showing my ipod touch to a friend, inevitably we try to watch video and it doesn't work without a speaker. Many times I have heard "that's stupid" and the ol' its an ipod and ipods don't have speakers line doesn't do much to soothe them. I think the ipod touch crosses some unspoken boundary in screen sizes between an ipod with video and a media/DVD player which is much more public and as such we often encounter circumstances necessitating a speaker. The cheap crappy add on speakers don't count, they are not a valid counter-argument.

Bluetooth would be nice, as with wireless syncing would be nice.
Fm radio would be nice, but salalite would rock, with the ablity to make a list of songs you liked them, and be able to buy them in iuunes when you hit a wi-fi hotspot.
.wmv player SUPPORT so you can watch .wmv files on it off the internet

As to the camera, it would be sick, but i dont believe it will happen, interferes with iphine sales, 3g or edge support, too.
WIMAX would be nice (when its implemented, or its equilivent)

but i love it as it is....

Support somehow for external keyboard. Have it come with a standard charger. Flash support.

Now that we are gonna get some great apps soon, the only thing I really want is a camera... but that probably won't happen because apple has to separate it from the iPhone...other than that I love it !!!

Would it be cool if you could communicate with your iPod Touch with other iPod Touch users such as a walkie talkie feature. Something similiar to Nextell walkie talkie feature. Possibly when larger wifi zones created could use communication software such as Skype and or iChat. Say goodbye to your expensive cell phone bill. They charge way too much.

All this very possible in not so distant future.

My Wish List...

The iPod Touch must add the following features in the near future...

100+ Gigabytes of flash storage
Microphone
Camera for video and still shots
Skype / Voip support
Video Conferencing
Speakers
WiMax
Support as storage device
GPS with ability to record trip location data
Offline maps (not just google streaming maps)
Flash
Java
Pico Projector
Remote Desktop Client
Terminal
Voice recognition (to augment keyboard usage)
Wireless access as storage device
Wireless syncing from iTunes
PDF Viewer
Keynote and Pages viewer
Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher viewer
Voice Recorder
Shortwave Radio
Etc.

Hmm, what else?

If you're looking for '≠', simply press 'alt + ='.
