Bluetooth. Lets you use wireless headphones/headset, and also share the internet connection from a mac with bluetooth (if there is no wifi in your house). You can transfer files between other devices with bluetooth. That bluetooth headset can be your mic into the touch for VOIP. Bluetooth Bluetooth Bluetooth!

GPS. I find the Google Maps feature worthless, otherwise. They could also make add revenue off it by letting you "set it" to pop up when you're within proximity of your favorite retailer. Like Starbucks Coffee? Your Touch could beep you when you got within a block or so. Like Mom & Pop diners? Tell the Touch that, ands it will let you know when you're within a 1/2 mile or so of one. You won't even need to be watching the maps app. If the Touch had bluetooth, it could then talk to the bluetooth/speakers in your car to voice prompt directions to the store/diner/whatever.

That's an amazing idea!

My iPod Touch has no dead/stuck pixels. The LCD is beautiful! Same with my MacBook LCD. So what do you mean by "impossible"???

Neither does mine, but we're in a very small minority. I guess it was a bad choice of words, but more emphasis should be put on the "pretty much" rather than the "impossible"; yes, there are some units that are or appear not to suffer from dead/stuck pixels, but the number that are affected are far[/r] greater.

Yep Bluetooth would be amazing. With by you could add gps on your own.

You do realize that's pretty much impossible? Not just for the Touch, but for basically any LCD screen, period?

Definitely not impossible. I'd say that 90% of the screens I've dealt with had none. However, since September, I've seen a horrendously high # of iPod touches and have yet to see one without stuck pixels. AFAIK, they're all affected by this issue. And as for people who think they have none...guaranteed it's because they didn't "check" or their eye sight is compromised some how (not trying to be rude or anything). The truth is that Apple has horrible QC on these screens and they can get away with it because most people won't notice them. In fact, in broad day light the stuck pixels are mostly impossible to see...until you get into a room where the lights are dimmer/off, then they really light up in your face.

Things would like to see on new iPod Touch

I would like to see voice recording capability. An external microphone would be fine.

Gps would be great.

I don't care about a camera. When I need a picture I use a good camera. Have never used the camera on my cell phone.

Needs a speaker for video, which is a common medium.

On the right size device I can see speakers as being important. That is not what I'd like to see on the next Touch or Touch Maxi. Speakers would add to much to the device as I still want something that is very easy to carry around, for example in a large pocket.

This would be a very good idea on a 7" inch device though.

Before there were MP3 players there were pocket sized little radios. They all had a speaker, and the audio quality was fine. Not amazing, but fine. I'll concede that none were as thin as the Touch, but will add that speaker technology has gotten better and thinner since then too.

Right now I'm making little wood stands for the Touch that let your set your Touch on your desk at a good angle for watching a movie. The thing that throws it off is having to plug something into the Touch for sound. Perhaps the clever designers at Apple can amaze us by turning the Touch metal back into a speaker element. I want one. ;)

as in we'll never manufacture every LCD off an assembly line to be perfect and flawless, and remain so through its entire life.

some LCDs will have or get imperfections.

First touch had a bunch of dead pixels, replacment is fine several months later
