Thinking about going from 6 to 6+...

I'm hearing all this stuff about the 6+ having inferior performance with crashes and lag.

I'm a little late so can someone please explain to me what is the cause of this and if it can/will be fixed via a future software update ??

I call bull@&$t! I have a 6 plus and it's fantastic. Best iPhone yet! Some of the Apps do crash sometimes, but I think that is more to do with them not being updated for iPhone 6 and iOS 8. Simply quit the App and open it again.

Though I think the 6 takes fairly good photos in lowlight I do wonder if OIS would improve things noticeable so that's of interest to me on the plus?

OIS doesn't necessarily make a noticeable real world difference as camera shake isn't a given, as illustrated in the photos below:

OIS alone is the worse reason for going with the Plus. Get it for the bigger screen, better battery life, etc.

Man I want a 6 plus too but I'm way past the 14 days. I got my 6 on launch day . I have the white 128 gb for att and now want the plus.

What do you think I can get ? Has Apple care plus too and a lifeproof and defender and apple leather case

I made the switch from 6 to 6+ recently too

I honestly was underwhelmed with the 6 and that's coming from a 4s

Put it on ebay it'll fetch good money. Look at ebay auctions for the same mode and itll give a good idea what youll get for it

Sold mine last week. 128 gb sg verizon. Listed on swappa at 769 for the phone and a spigen case and screen protector. The device sold in less than 5 minutes. Wish now I would have started a little closer to 800. With all you have you could probably list it at 850-900 and have pretty good luck selling it, especially since they are still on backorder.

Hi everyone,

I used to have an iphone 4, but left it for a bigger-screened Android phones.
I've had S3 and Note 3. Liked them both but the OS was just too buggy.

When I saw iphone 6 at the apple store, I immediately fell in love.
At that time, I thought 6+ was just too big. It was technically bigger than note 3 I had.

So I went with 6, I LOVE the phone, but now I'm having second thoughts...

Now I want 6+! You can call me crazy, but seriously.
My coworker has + and I just keep staring at it every time I walk by her desk.

Since I cannot return my 6, should I just sell my 6 and get 6+?
Please help! Thanks. :)

Went from the 6 to the 6 Plus and am beyond absolutely happy and satisfied and glad that I did, no regrets at all and i am already used to the Plus now...the bigger screen and 1080p panel, the OIS, and espcially the noticeably better battery life of the Plus makes it feel like a big upgrade from past iPhones and a legit upgrade...I am absolutely in love with my Plus, if you dont mind a Note 3 sized phone/phablet , the Plus is the way to go, I promise you wont be let down

The thinness and tapered edges makes this device great to hold in hand IMO, and keeps it slim and very tolerable and lighter and skinnier in pocket due to its form factor

OIS is the smallest reason to upgrade to the 6 Plus, but OIS most certainly does help in low light and makes the Plus produce better images then the 6, you picked a bad few examples, OIS helps quite a bit in low light

On a 6 Plus here, came from a 6 , and have noticed absolutely no difference in performance, both scream and peform blazing fast and give fantastic graphical details in games alongside with superb high frame rate, Vainglory looks and plays beyond amazing on my Plus

I went from a 6 to a 6 plus. I much prefer it, I have no idea why people are saying the performance isn't as good?

No doubt that's just size envy! ;)

I agree to this, 6 Plus performs just as blazing fast and stupdenously fast as the 6 I switched from which I had own for over a month and a half

I didn't pick a few bad examples as they're all the review (which didn't use a tripod) shows. Other professional reviews tend to use a tripod, making camera shake and hence OIS moot. In fact, those reviews such as this one for example compared the 6/6+ to the 5s for this reason.

Feel free to post some examples comparing specifically the 6+ to the 6 where OIS helps quite a bit in low light because I haven't seen any so far.

OIS and wide angle

The reason OIS doesn't help much is that the fixed camera lenses on the 6+ is really wide. The longer the lenses are, the more handshake affect can see in the final image.

This is why you don't see Nikon or Canon offers image stabilization models for their wide angle lenses.

I own a PLUS and am incredibly critical of the devices. The PLUS absolutely has lag IF you're looking for it. Can't say that about the 6 regular, it's smooth as silk in every test I've run.

Would I call this a deal breaker? No.

What has me keeping the plus? Battery life. It's amazing.

In real world usage there is a noticeable improvement in battery life over the 6 then?

I know from reading the reviews this is supposed to be the case, but I'd rather hear it from actually users of the device.

I noticed games just don't run as smoothly on the 6+ compared to the 6 we have also.

Modern Combat for example.

Without a doubt, I've NEVER been had a phone with this much battery. It's absolutely unreal. On typical usage, Facebooking, Tapatalk, Infinity Blade, Messaging... Etc, I can get a full day and be down only to 40% or more. As we speak I had a full charge yesterday afternoon, didn't plug in at night and I'm at 76% right now. It's awesome!

This is interesting to me because I can see no discernible difference in gameplay when I've compared Infinity Blade, which is very graphic heavy. The only few instances I can cause a stutter are when (in standard view) spotlight turns from landscape to portrait, OR if Safari has a bunch (more than 10) of tabs open and you go to switch to another one. Since I use my phone in zoomed view, neither of these effect me. I do believe (just an opinion) that this phone will not age as gracefully as other iOS devices, but it should have no problem lasting the two year period of a normal phone contract.

If I were you I'd wait it out for the 6s Plus.

After seeing that A8X chip it's fair to say iPhone 6/Plus users have been shafted by Apple. The 6s and 6s Plus will see a hefty spec bump with it's A9 over the A8 chip, probably receiving the much debated 2GB of RAM and extra CPU & graphics core/s.

I have to admit that while using my 5s right now I've checked out the 6 and 6 Plus and felt the Plus was too big, but I'm slowly coming round to the idea of getting a Plus when the S model comes round next year (at the same time my upgrade is due :D).

I agree, I also believe we were shafted. Unfortunately I had a 4S that was (not so slowly) dying on me. This 6 Plus will have to last my two year contract and then I'll upgrade.

Apple has REALLY showed their greed in this latest device and iOS release. Planned obsolescence right in front of our eyes for those that wish to see.

Overall, I'm VERY happy with the phone. I just know it could have been much more future proof.

It depends what you've come from.

You went from a 4S to a 6 Plus, so you've skipped two generations of iPhone so have seen a pretty huge performance leap to you personally.

Normally the benchmarks and specs between the new iPhone and iPad are quite close, but Apple pushed the boat out with the Air 2. On Geekbench, and I know it's only benchmarks and not indicative of real world use, the iPhone 5s and 6/6Plus are very close in both single and multi core scores. Normally you see a near double the leap in performance numbers (like on the Air 2 with it's multi core score vs the Air 1).

I've heard a lot of people who've come from a 5s say that the 6 and 6 Plus are simply 'bigger screen versions of the iPhone 5s in a new body'. Performance wise there's very little between the 5s and 6, but the 6s SHOULD have some decent speed spec bumps.
