This is probably similar to when the plus first came out or the X, so much wasn’t updated at first, even a few native apps. Remember the black bars on the top and bottom of the phones? I’m sure this will be fixed in a few weeks. This is apples first iPhone with it, give it some time. Sheesh. People put apple on such a pedestal.

Is it just me or is setting scrolling speed no diffrent than the iPhone 12 Pro doesn’t seem like it’s 120hz in safari it’s noticable

Or the most probable reason. Apple want's other apps to stink and show his own apps as superior. If you ask me Tim Cook probably thought this would be a good idea.
This is right on the money. Apple is using their OS monopoly to unfairly promote their own apps. Tim Cook only cares about making money and trapping customers in the Apple ecosystem. And anyone who suggests that other app companies should just make their own OS is so out of touch as to be irrelevant to the conversation.

It’s battery related issue.

On my iPad Pro, I noticed battery tends to drain faster when I run apps with 120mhz refresh rate all the time (like games)

Apple may open up faster refresh at max to all devs in future but it may be limited to Pro Max because of battery issue.

Going to be disappointed if this isn’t a mistake/bug. I didn’t pay over $1000 to not get the full 120Hz for everything.

Got my popcorn ready to read all the posts from people that didn’t get the Pro, justifying their choice with an “issue” no one knew existed at the time of choosing what to order.
Usually the ones that need a justification are the ones that spent money on a purchase they do not perceive more value in - not the other way around.

And for the record I do plan to get the 13 Pro Max to replace an aging XS Max while my Wife will get my 11 Pro Max. But Pro-Motion is definitely not part of it, and I would not upgrade to the 13 Pro Max if I didn't want to replace the XS Max.

I see it that way: When Apple is bragging about how this is (again) the biggest iPhone upgrade EVER, then I expect it to work as advertised NOW and not 4 months down the road. After all, Apple has received my money NOW and not in 4 months from now. I‘m not putting Apple on such a pedestal but when shelling out 1000+ $ for a product I do expect to get the features I’m paying for right out of the box rather than having to wait for iOS 15.x. Apple is a trillion dollar company, surely they could have managed to take the necessary actions to implement the 120 Hz throughout right from the start, if they were willing to. Maybe this is just an oversight, but it‘s inevitably so by trying to throw the new phone into market as soon as possible maximizing profit.

If that were the case, it would be gimped on the iPad as well. Besides, it's not like Apple is making their own Reddit app to compete with Apollo.
