It’s embarrassing from Apple yes, but I would also point the finder to all of those who download beta versions because it’s cool and then just flood the forums complaining about the battery and don’t even know how to report a bug.
They should close off the public beta testing again and give betas to selected developers or people who have the skills to run a beta testing program. And maybe pay some other people to find bugs too.
 
I remember the early Windows 10 days where this happened. It is shocking how it gets passed testing.

Perhaps you’re using the wrong version of Gmail, then. Your app icon is old...
Doesn't seem like that's related to the general underlying issue all that much.
 
Am I still missing something? I posted about this on the first day after iOS 14 and despite the updates since I still can’t get the default email choice to make any difference.

I select Spark as my email app but every time I click an email link in Safari it still opens Mail. What do I have to do to make it work???
 
I thought before it was that a restart of your device reset the apps. This but pertains to updating the apps.

Correct, my point is that the forum has been talking about this scenario. But yes the reboot default was fixed previously.
 
Some apps don't understand the defaults. YouTube still asks to open in Safari or Chrome and I don't even have Chrome installed :/ Use Firefox like my default is set as
