I think the one theme that keeps cropping up is people saying how iOS is the best NOW.

What I see is that Android is moving up quickly. It started later and in many ways was rushed to market at first. So it's not surprising.

I do honestly think that without something changing in where Apple's trajectory is heading right now we'd all be saying different things in a few years.

Just because there was bad experiences with Android in the past does not mean that's the case in the future.

So if people want to try the new ICS phones. Why not? The past is not always a good indication of what the future would be like.

Agree. I didnt like the first Android phone and stuck with my iPhone. Wasnt til i got my Vibrant that i liked it. Had a guy in my work today that had a iPhone 4. He made three calls and two of them dropped. I asked him, "you must have a iPhone 4". He said yes, ....said it was "garbage" and that his wife has a 4S and it never drops calls.

Moral of the story is the IP4 sucked...as far as making calls but the iP4S is better. ICS is also MUCH better than Froyo which is not even two years old and much better than Gingerbread which im not sure is even a year old.

My apologies. I'm sorry for my conduct. This is not me.

I cannot engage in these discussions.

Peace for all.

You are an incredibly immature person just throwing a tantrum and attempting to remove all of your previous statements from the conversation. These are just phones. They do not need to dictate your life to you.

As to the keyboard, how is it leaps and bounds ahead? I honestly don't know. I find them to be equally good in an area where Android was sorely lacking, up until now. But that is it, I haven't seen the ICS keyboard surpass IOS in any way.

Fair question, but it's somewhat difficult to answer fully because everyone's typing/thumbing speed is different. I happen to thumb very fast (probably a product of my Blackberry days) and the iOS keyboard does not keep up. There are numerous missed keys/presses (that is, unregistered taps) that either result in typos, or worse, ridiculous autocorrections. I am not being hyperbolic; just take a look at how many of those "iPhone autocorrection" sites there are for people's enjoyment/laughter.

But as I have said, everyone types at different speeds and in different ways, so this is more subjective. iOS cannot keep up with me. ICS can. Rarely do I see missed-presses.

However, I still feel the ICS keyboard does things better. Number one, there's a suggestion bar, of which ICS is pretty accurate. Having a suggestion bar goes such a long way in helping you choose the right word. Some of iOS' autocorrections just don't seem up to par. For whatever reason, my iPhone doesn't auto-change "tou" to "you" whenever I typo that. ICS does. This is just one example. There are more.

Also, little things like when you accidentally type "youbknow" (hitting the b key instead of the spacebar), ICS automatically changes it to "you know." Ditto for either "youvknow" or "younknow" etc (in other words, the lower row of keys near the spacebar). iOS does not do the same. If you typo "youbknow", it won't recognize it as "you know."

There are other things that frustrate me with the iOS' keyboard, but I can't recall it all at this moment. I feel it sorely needs to be updated and improved.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong. I am rooting for and looking toward improvements in iOS 6.

All i can say is... WOW

After reading all this i think it's likely that this forum is not for you

I just don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

At first I was having fun,

But when I began to think about it, there was no real purpose in entertaining a discussion like this. So now, I'd rather not talk about it.

One the board I moderate, the user has only 1/2 hour to edit their post. It's a good feature. It becomes a permanent record of how users behave and they can't "deny" what they've said in the past - unless of course the content breaks TOS and mods have to edit it. In any case, macrumors should consider adopting the feature. Just my .02

Fair enough. I have actually noticed some of those things myself. I guess I took leaps and bounds to mean a lot more than you did. Thanks for the thorough explanation. :)

It's fine. I was just talking to him out of boredom. I stopped because I really don't have any interest in the matter. So I didn't want to lead him on. Also, I wanted to stay away from making statements that cannot be verified. I think it's annoying that you can't really clean up after yourself, which is what I did.

Others can feel free to discuss it, as they are. But yes, I try to be as nice and good as possible.

I doubt you're going to find Apple comes out with an iPhone that responds to everyone's every specification or need so get whatever you want.

I agree, I've had a boatload of smartphones running a wide variety of OS's. For me, I'm happiest with 2 phones concurrently. An iOS & a Android. The best of both, variety, and the usefulness of a large screen on my Skyrocket.

That said if Apple would offer a 4.3" to 4.6"'display that would do it, I'd own just one. I'm an Apple enthusiast first & foremost. It's only Apples conservative stance that disappoints me. Refined yet so slow to adopt the latest useful features of the competitors.

No matter how much a fanboy you are, don't ever, EVER buy an LG Android phone. Their software builds are like crap and the hardware is prone to malfunctioning. It doesn't matter how good the hardware looks or how low the price is. NEVER buy LG Androids. You'll regret it and beg people to exchange them for an iPhone 3GS. If you like Android, wait for the Galaxy S3 or the HTC One X.
