Kind of a ridiculous statement since the Storm isnt even out yet. How would you know? Granted there is a bias here since most of us are Mac users and have used an iPhone. However it is possible for something to come along that is better than the iPhone.

I had an iPhone but had to give it up for reasons I discussed in another thread. I current have a LG Voyager, which is a piece of crap. The sales guy at Verizon tried to sell it as "just like the iPhone" and I just laughed in his face. But, it was the best of what they offer. Im exchanging it for a Storm this coming friday because Im hoping it is more like an iPhone than anything else.

If I could go back to ATT and my old iPhone I would in a second. But to say the iPhone is better without even trying a Storm is dumb.

have you checked out the specs man. The iphone blows away the storm. Im am almost positive the touch screen would not be better than iphone touch screen. The only thing better on storm is the camera. Then again, iphone camera takes better pictures because it handles lighting much better.
all in all i agree, storm is dumb.

I only watched the "cupcake" ad, and did so with the sound off. With no sound, the ad said, to me anyway, that the iPhone is like a delicious cupcake, while the Instinct is also like a delicious cupcake, but with way too much frosting, haphazard sprinkles, which are generally flavorless and purely decorative, and a cocktail cherry, which I don't recall ever seeing or wanting on a cupcake.

In other words, the ad tells me that the Instinct is covered in things I don't want or like, while the iPhone is just plain delicious. Sounds about right.

Funny, they could have put Vista and OSX boxes in place of the phones and sold the ad to Microsoft too.

yes, Ive seen the specs. Aside from the OS, which is a HUGE deal, dont get me wrong, the only thing IMO that iPhone has over the Storm is wifi. Why in the world Blackberry decided to leave that off is beyond me. Stupid, stupid, stupid. But besides that they seem to be comparable.

Again, you say the iPhone blows the Storm away. On what basis? Youve never even seen a Storm. You are "almost positive" the touch screen is better? You cant make any solid comparison without trying the Storm out. I had an iPhone for a year and a half and still had issues with the on-screen keyboard. Many, many typos. Im interested to see if the Storm, with the tactile feel, helps.

As far as the iPhone camera, I never thought it was that good. In low-light conditions its sucked. In bright light, yes, it took pretty good pictures.

There are clear things about the Storm that are better than the iPhone. If you want a few:

better cam - zoom and flash
video recording
cut/copy and paste
mms
landscape keyboard in email and sms
removable battery

All that said, if I could go back to my iPhone I would in a second. I had to give it up because my wife is living in a non-ATT network area and they put a roaming restriction on our account. So we had to go to Verizon.

I will be more than happy to say the iPhone is far superior to the Storm come next friday when I get the Storm, IF in fact it is far superior. But Im reserving judgement until I get my hands on the Storm.

Which specs? Screen resolution? Battery life? World capability? 3G coverage? Camera resolution? Memory expandability? CPU speed?

It's capacitive as well, but adds the clever click-ability that Apple is now giving its laptop touchpads.

That would make the whole YouTube thing better? God, that's what I hate about YouTube. Every 15-year-old with a camera phone feels the need to put up every single video they shoot, even if it's just their friends sitting there laughing and screaming hysterically for 5 minutes with really shaky camera-phone video.

Yes that will make YouTube much better.

I was at the Downtown Berkeley BART station on Thursday morning and saw a young girl talking on her Instank, and she was talking and fumbling with her phone as she was trying to get something out of her purse, and the phone slipped from her shoulder and struck the ground and the battery, the phone and the flimsy back of her phone went flying and bouncing everywhere. When she picked it up she started crying. I tried to help her put it back together, but it was so banged up that the battery wouldn't fit into the phone and the case would not shut completely. I didn't know what to say, but I let her use my iPhone to complete her call. I've never seen an iPhone explode like that, so I guess "iPhone WINS!"

your right, but put all that aside right now the iphone looks more promotable that storm. Your right we won't know what exactly storm has until we actually see it, thats why im gonna check it out when it comes out and make my judgments.

I think apple will come out with a new iphone in sumer of 2009 that will have
