That’s working already, judging from this comment thread.Whispering sweet conspiracy theories into your ear every night
so many fools love their Facebook I think this will sell well if priced right. And because FB is suffering from Apple’s security moves I expect FB will give these things away (and probably make more moves to attack Apple head on by trying to emulate the profitable parts of Apple.)To me, there needs to be more competition to the Apple Watch, aside from Fitbit and Garmin. I don’t know how well this watch will fare with consumers, and it’s very late to the game. But if it’s priced affordably, and has some decent features, it might catch on, but the Apple Watch is so dominant with the health features, and pairs so well with iOS, that I just don’t see this becoming a main stream product. But if it’s another cash revenue for Facebook/‘Meta’, then there’s that.
Full agree.Yeah... I bet they are gonna start giving away their hardware for free so they never have to ask you to opt out of ads.
Look, I don't really care what they do or have done – put the (earned) bias aside and convince me that this company doesn't just throw things at the wall and sees what sticks. It's unreal. I can't think of another behemoth LESS focused. Facebook – no, I'm not saying Meta – needs to respect the brand 'laws of contraction' vs the 'laws of expansion' if they want to be relevant in 10 years. Quit with these cameras, these watches, these glasses – that is NOT you. Double down on how decent Facebook Marketplace is vs the ridiculousness that eBay has become. Support and build out your actually desiredproducts and make an Instagram iPad app. I don't care, really, but god, it's not rocket science... that is, till they announce a rival space division. Despite every article's comments saying to 'delete it' (or worse, that they did it "years ago and never looked back"), the company and Zuck is going NOWHERE but, god, the increasingly lack of relevancy must really mess with him.
I won't even put the Fakebook app on my phone, let alone wear one of their products on my wrist (or anywhere else on my body, for that matter). Why would ANYONE want FB on their wrist 24/7? Is the data mining on FB on your phone not enough?
Meta sending details of where you shop, where you eat, its an advertiser's dream.... no thanks.,,
Meta, the company formerly known as Facebook, has been working on a smart watch designed to compete with the Apple Watch since early this year, and now Bloomberg has obtained pictures of the device.

The smart watch has a design that's not too far off from the Apple Watch, but it is wider and rounder with more curved edges. There is a camera at the bottom of the display, along with a control button on the right side.
According to Bloomberg, the watch features a detachable wrist strap and a button at the top of the case. Prior rumors have suggested the watch will have a detachable display with two built-in cameras for taking pictures and videos to share to Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
A camera on the front of the display will be used for video calls, while a secondary camera on the back can be used for capturing photos when the body is detached from the stainless steel watch frame.
The device will offer a cellular connection that does not require a smartphone, and wearers will be able to send messages with services like Messenger and WhatsApp. It is also expected to have built-in health tracking features like a heart rate monitor.
Meta, which operates social networking site Facebook, already sells Oculus virtual reality headsets and the Facebook Portal video calling devices, but the smart watch will be its first wearable. Meta is planning to launch the watch as early as 2022, but there is no solidified timeline for release as of yet and plans could still change. If the device does debut in 2022, it will compete with the upcoming Apple Watch Series 8.
